Does it get really really Hot or cold where you live?

I did read a few things that pointed so some better brands but about twice the cost. What I've read about the the lifepo batteries wasn't all bad, but it was convincing enough for me to not get.

Sorry no first hand experience😬

Summers are in the 90's winters can go below zero.

Factory battery lasted 3 years and now this Odessey AGM is on it's way out.

It always amazes me when modern manufacturing techniques take something so simple and manages to squeeze a few pennies out of it to make it cheaper to make, and last a shorter life.

I'm literally looking into these right now so anything I say is just regurgated 😁

A theme I saw was people having their battery dead after a year, and the manufacturer telling them it was because of extreme temperature swings of being in a hot engine bay or very cold starts.

Apparently starting at 32* is damaging to it, and charging at 25* or below is very damaging to it.

Probably all made in CN or they'd cost $900. Check for DOT and NHTSA registration....

I'm not sure that's necessarily the problem with batteries. Cars today put so much extra demand on the battery. It's not like 15 or 20 years ago when the worst you had to worry about was leaving the lights on. Now there's power being drawn literally every moment the battery is connected. Used to be a battery would last 4 to 5 years easily. Now I feel fortunate to get 3 to 4. But I don't think it's the fault of the battery, rather the demands that are being placed on them.
To the OP's question, unless there's some specific reason (like lighter weight) I'd just get another AGM from a good brand. It seems there are reported problems with that new technology and no real guarantee that it will last any longer than what you have. If you have access to a Costco they have flooded 96Rs for $120 and H5/47 AGM for $185.

The Duracell AGM by EastPenn is by far one of the best I’ve found. Sam’s Club pricing can’t be beat.
I’ve only had the H5/47 AGM in my GTPP for a year so I can’t comment on the battery life.

They should have put it inside the car.

My factory Grand Cherokee battery was 9 years old and still kicking, I just replaced it so I don't get stranded somewhere.

Also if it's not a race car I'd rather just keep a standard battery. Never heard anything great about Optima's but people still use them

Since it's about the same cost I'd like to have a lighter battery.

This visually looks like AntiGravity one I had in my car for last four years (and it was flawless). Wouldn't be surprised if it came out of the same factory.
