Anyone planning their first road trip?

Following the unveil in December, we decided to postpone our vacation until the new Mustang arrives and take a road trip. Probably going up to Nashville and stay a day or two, then across to the east coast to cruise a few days and let my wife check out some lighthouses and maybe find a drag strip along the way. Anyone else planning a trip for their new S550?

Yep. Planning on breaking it in for about 2,000 miles, and then once the break-in is done, New York - San Diego - New York. Have the route planned out to finish it in 9 days.

Yep! I live in Atlanta and bought from a dealer in PA. I will fly up to the dealer and drive back home!

First leg of the trip will be from PA to Charlottesville, VA where my parents live. Will stay there and let my dad look over the car, etc. Then head back home the next day. Total trip mileage will be about 850 miles. My 12 year old son will be heading up with me.

Provided mine arrives in time (convertible) I'll take it on my annual pilgrimage to Vegas for March Madness. Fingers crossed!

Camping and driving around Northern Michigan possibly pictured rocks in the Upper Peninsula. Florida for Christmas Naples Miami and Orlando to visit family and friends and of course escape the snow.

That sounds like one heck of a road trip! Have you made that drive before? I have always wanted to drive coast to coast, just never seem to have enough time off to do it.

I'll be driving from Austin, TX to St. Augustine, FL at Christmas. My folks have a house that is half a mile from the beach there.

I'd love to drive it from midMichigan to Northern Vermont, by way of Canada, to visit my parents. If I get my car in early October, that could be a real possibility, since I want to avoid the snow.

Come the Spring I would love to take a week or 2 off work and drive from Michigan out to the West Coast.

I will have mileage-aphobia for the first year so I will be doing my best to keep the miles off of it. No clue why but I do it with every car I get...

Then Im sure I will get over it, go nuts and schedule road trips.

I never had more fun in my life than spending a weekend in Vegas for March Madness....amazing.

Me too, probably put around 2-300 miles on the first day or two...

If the car arrives by 15 October, I'll be taking it to Ga to visit my Daughter and stop by the MCA show in Savannah

Next summer i'm doing a father-son roadtrip to Cali and back, planning about 10-15 stops on the way there and an equal amount of stops the way back, i'll be driving the 2015 Stang' and he'll be in his 2009 C6 Z06
