Just returned this past Sunday from my first long road trip in my 2015 Mustang. 3.7 V6. My girlfriend and her daughter and myself and my youngest daughter packed up--and I DO MEAN PACKED UP--the trunk with 2 big suitcases...I was traveling with 3 females...sooooo....and a cooler in the trunk and snacks and all that.
We drove up to see my family in Iowa and drove up thru Monteagle in Tennessee which is actually more fun driving south than north.
We did go thru some hilly areas in the Tennessee area. Im happy to say we did just fine EXCEPT for the girlfriend getting a speeding ticket 20 miles outside of Hannibal Missouri!!! She was doing 80 in a 65!! "This car rides so smooth you dont know you are going that fast!!" she told me!!
I predicted around 30 mpg for gas mileage and Pumpkin...as its nicknamed... came damn close with several 27 and 28s!! I thought that was pretty good as packed as it was!! I had THE WORKS maintanence done at my Ford dealership where I bought the car in September of last year and had my girlfriends brother in law...a former Ford mechanic...do the plenum gasket, ignition coils, and plugs, right before we left. All told it was over a 3000 mile road trip with some driving around in northeast Iowa and into Wisconsin to Prairie du Chein one day to get....what else...Cheese Curds!!
Does anybody else have a lengthy road trip from this year? Would love to hear it!
