I'd like to make a trip to Sebring or Road Atlanta at some point in mid to late 2015. :)

Dream road trip would be along the PCH or through some choice mountain roads toward the East.

Sounds like some really cool road trips being planned. If I'm lucky enough to take delivery before the 3rd week in October my first road trip will be down to O.C. for the annually family vacation.

I'm going there this weekend. Too bad the S550 isn't with me yet.

My dealer continues to maintain that my car will be delivered late September, early October. We'll see. But if we have it by Thanksgiving, we'll be driving to Boise and back, which is a 1500-mile round trip.

Key West would be another cool road trip I hope to do some day. Would be nice to have a convertible for that trip though. I just don't think I could bring myself to buy a convertible though. Not sure about the S550 obviously but I took a C6 'vert on a short 200 mile road trip this weekend and it was not nearly as much fun as I expected. The car ran great and handles great but all the wind noise, tire roar and other noise made conversation nearly impossible. Add to that the increased weight, cost of replacing the top, the tendency to leak, etc and it's just not for me. On the perfect day, it doesn't get any better though. We don't have many of those days down here.

Heh. Wife? No, man, I'm only 33.
Haha, dang dude! You are making me feel old and I am 8 years younger than you. I know what you mean though, I really enjoy the peace and quiet driving alone, usually don't even turn on the radio. But I do about 200 miles of that every single day with work so I don't mind some company every now and then.

Dragon tail has to be one of the best driving roads in the world. Get there early AM on a weekday. The weekends are miserable. If you go on the weekend your spirited driving will consist of following slowly behind Harley clubs that want to facebook that they rode dragons tail over the weekend.

Watch for trucks, bikes and cars crossing the center line....

Thanks for the advice ! Maybe ill see some likeminded drivers out there..looking forward too it !

I live right by the Black Hills so there are definitely some fun roads but I postponed my leave/trip until spring so I can take the car from SD to WI/IL and back. Will definitely be a good few thousand miles.

I would really love to drive it up to the Flat Rock plant and tour the facilities. I think that would be the ultimate Mustang road trip but I think someone said they don't do public tours. I know I just missed one with the dream cruise last weekend, I couldn't get off work. Anyone know if they do tours regularly or at least occasionally?

I can't for the life of me figure out why manufacturers miss this opportunity...Porsche gets it. In a few months you will be able to fly into Atlanta, track the car you are interested in at their headquarters and then put in an order. Once the car is built they can ship it to you or you can drop in and take driving courses before you hit the road with your new car...I would love that experience.

Its going to sell a crap lad of cars for them...
