Going to take mine up to the Appalachians (provided it gets here before full winter sets in). Probably going to go with most of the family, use our cousins cabin up there . My mission will be to find some fun back mtn roads :D and try out this dragon tail I here everyone talking about.

And come summer , the drive down to Myrtle Beach for Mustang Week! Missed this years :/

That sounds like one heck of a road trip! Have you made that drive before? I have always wanted to drive coast to coast, just never seem to have enough time off to do it.
I haven't -- longest road trip I've done is New York - Miami several times. About 1250 miles, and I normally do it straight in one shot, just stop to gas up and take a leak.

I set out a route so that I won't have to drive more than 750 miles in any one day, and I can take a break in San Diego for a day. I've never seen the Rockies except to fly over them, very excited about that.

Camping and driving around Northern Michigan possibly pictured rocks in the Upper Peninsula. Florida for Christmas Naples Miami and Orlando to visit family and friends and of course escape the snow.
That sounds optimistic to be planning road trips for Christmas -- I placed my order June 20 with priority 10 and my dealer is telling me to expect delivery late January.

If you are taking I-70 westbound through Kansas and Colorado, you will come up over a plateau in eastern Colorado and the Rockies will just suddenly be there in front of you. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

Everyone is in a different situation. Being in Dearborn and having my order in early (one of the first from my understanding) gives me the hope and expectations that I will have this car by the end of September. You all will be of the first to know once I do take delivery. I will have the car with me at work every day at the dealership I work at in Dearborn if anyone wants to verify my claim or go for a ride.

Dragon tail has to be one of the best driving roads in the world. Get there early AM on a weekday. The weekends are miserable. If you go on the weekend your spirited driving will consist of following slowly behind Harley clubs that want to facebook that they rode dragons tail over the weekend.

Watch for trucks, bikes and cars crossing the center line....

Until you see this though it's one of the most boring drives ever, grew up in Kansas so I know...

They even have a Museum of Yarn out there...no lie..

Picking up near Sacramento, taking it to Thunderhill, and then back down the PCH and across to Scottsdale.

Oh yeah, I think I remember you saying something about that Miami drive in another post a while back. 750 miles/day is still a big chunk, you must not be taking a wife along . I think we will be lucky to do 200/day. if there will be any antique shops or malls near the highway my wife will lose her damn mind :headbonk: but I don't mind too much. Just looking forward to 1) getting some seat time, and 2) getting away for a while.

Heh. Wife? No, man, I'm only 33, no wife or anything like that for me yet. The whole point is to get some solitude and to be able to shut the brain off and be alone for a while -- figure 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day, stops for gas and to grab some food I can eat while I'm driving, should be fine.

If I get it in time ahead of the Detroit Marathon, I will be driving it back up to Michigan from Ohio in mid-October. Crossing fingers!

Yep. Planning on breaking it in for about 2,000 miles, and then once the break-in is done, New York - San Diego - New York. Have the route planned out to finish it in 9 days.
Cannonball run huh? ;)

When you hit San Diego, make sure you go downtown and hit up Lou and Mickey's Steak house in the Gaslamp district (sit on the patio outside...amazing view). That place has the best steaks. I go ever year when I'm out there.
