first will be useless. He'll need a PBH planetary.

He does roll racing 60 to 130. Not digs. With the wide spread of the A6 and his high RPM power band the gear will help. The taller tires will get better traction.

So can a gen2 with only an intake/tb/IM rev to 7500 safely? Why is the redline 7K stock?

The FRPP tune for the auto shifts at 7400
Yeah, I know FP thinks it’s safe and even warrantied back in the day. I’ve just never heard a straight answer as to why the stock redline is 7000 when it has B302 internals (except cast pistons) or better and the gen3 with the same rotating parts is redlined at 7400. I think I blame the stock IM which keels over after 6500.

but lots of gen2 folks go to 7500 with unopened engines all the time, right?

60 to 130 is pointless with 2000 hp Lambo's out there.
SO you go FI, or buy a 18+ w/ 10R80 & get it under 3000lbs. NA.

Probably because that’s where ford wanted the power band. The kept the rpm’s lower and wanted to increase torque. You can rev a stock coyote over 8k rpm. I’ve done it a bunch and nothing has failed because of it.

Roll racing is what I tend to do. And no one brings out 2000hp lambos where I am haha

That is the answer. The FRPP tune is based on the gt350 mani. Even the FRPP2 tune is almost identical to the FRPP3. I think the reason for not going higher with the 350 mani is due to the cams crapping out about 7500

Makes sense.

Just weird that Ford bothered with those higher rpm (and $) parts over the gen1 then kept the redline the same.
