If they wanted 800 hp then why didn't they use a bigger motor? I guess ford wanted to save money using the 5.2 cpc. Possibly use Whipple instead of Eaton? Lastly twin turbo? I still can't believe we waited this long and possibly 16 more months for a parts bin gt500. The adm will be icing on the cake

The Demon is not AWD..... but I agree with you, the reason the GT500 is not going against the Demon is because it's useless to go after a car that is good doing only one thing: Drag Race.
You're right. For some reason, I got my wires crossed about the Challenger GT (AWD) and the Demon. I suppose it's pretty dumb for them to put 315-width tires on the front of the car, given that it's just going to induce drag, but maybe they need that wide of a contact patch, given that it's running drag radials at all four corners.

What engine were they supposed to use? The 6.8L is a dog (and a V-10), and is way too big and heavy, and the Coyote and Voodoo have bore-spacing issues. The only way to embiggen it would be to have a tall-deck version, which would creating packaging issues (increase in the overall height) that would require a taller hood.

I'd love to have seen this be twin-turbo, so I can't disagree there, but from an engineering standpoint, they need to have a warranty on this thing. Stuff a twin-turbo in with all the associated plumbing, and you're going to have a cooling and packaging nightmare, not to mention a warranty headache (think heat-soak on the CTS-V or limp mode on the GT350 Tech Pack cars).

I hope I am but at this point all we have is a gt 350 with a tvs and a dct I guess? Hopefully there is awd or electric motors for Tesla like acceleration. If not then I guess I probably will go to Corvette. I would love a twin turbo mustang GT but I prefer having a warranty.

So get an 18 GT and slap on a gen 5 whipple . A well equipped 18 GT A10/PP/Magneride plus gen 5 whipple should be ~$60K - should be 750 rwhp but no warranty .it may cost a little less(and make less) with a ford racing TVS but still have a powertrain warranty .
Might be an option if the GT500 is priced out of reach considering ADM's

. I probably will have to go this route if I stay with mustang. My last Corvettes I bought I got 20 percent off msrp plus I have a gm credit card for more discount. If I can get a zr1 for close to 100 thousand and the gt 500 is 80 then zr1 is the better value to me. I feel I will be in a zr1 by the time I find a gt 500 at msrp

You can apply the "I can build that for a lot less" to any halo car...but it still isn't the halo car, and you depreciate the value of your car by doing those mods. A GT500 will always hold more value than a modded GT with matching power output.

That’s exactly it. From what I’ve seen your lucky to get 25-33% back of major mods.

Really? When did this news come out? I say this is GREAT news. I was kind of disappointed at the thought of another FPC motor (personally). I prefer the CPC sound over FPC
That info hasn’t been officially released by Ford but it’s accurate.

Curious to see what they do to the rear subframe to handle the power with any sort of warranty time considered

Still not 100% sure on that one. In my opinion I don't think they'll change much on the rear end. Maybe some stronger halfshafts but only time will tell.
