On a side note I set the cruise control to 68mph on the way home and it managed 28.1mpg with 2 toll booth stops included. Not quite the 33mpg my EB got on the same trip but very good

Not bad for a V8 at all.

oh no.

guard to ty....
haha I will really miss how guard looks on an overcast day

Congrats man. Im gonna be heading in the same direction around this time next year but more than likely it'll be a 2018 GT. After this whole fiasco with the accident is done I'll be going the GT route.
I just read through your thread, that is insane! Good luck with getting your car back to 100%. If my car had still been stock and I had a warranty I definitely would have held out at least until the 2018s came out. The EB is actually still fun and quick enough to me in stock form. I can definitely feel the loss in handling ability moving to the GT but the way power keeps on coming is awesome

Congrats. I did the same thing last August. What's your first mods? Mine was tint, Corsa exhaust and an alarm. Good luck and welcome to the GT club :D

Haha I'm thinking tint and then resonator delete H-Pipe.

Anybody have a recommendation for a resonator delete? I don't want to piss off my neighborhood so I'm leaving the stock mufflers for now

Congrats man! So did you put the car back to stock before you traded it in or did you trade it with all the parts still on it? I'm curious how they feel about taking a car with a (likely) voided warranty. Did they give you less than book value? I totally get your situation and am thinking of switching to a 2018 GT next year too since my early EB build is in the danger zone too (9/14).

I'm guessing it's the 3.31? Cause that's pretty damn good

They appraised the car while it was still fully modded. They test drove it when I hadn't even removed the Livernois tune yet so they knew how modified it was. We agreed that I would remove all the mods and put it back to stock which I did (for the most part) before trading it in. The sales manager wasn't put off completely by the voided warranty he just wanted my assurance that the car wasn't about to blow. I definitely would have gotten a couple more grand if they had never seen it modified but at the time they looked at it I was only casually shopping, but what I got wasn't bad at all, it's basically the book value of a "fair condition" car which I would say mine was.

Thanks for the shoutout Swag! Kinda sad to see the Guard EB go, but a GT is a GT lol. There is NO FEE for us to reassign your tuner from the EB to your GT! Hit me up and I will get you going.

As for the exhaust mods, I would recommend that you go with ARH as well. I can get you hooked up their bottleneck eliminating h-pipe setup too! #ONESTOPSHOP lol

I don't blame him for switching at all. All of these failures is concerning. The first good GT offer I get I may be tempted to switch too. Not sure if I feel like driving 3-4 hours to Maryland for a car though lol.

Yeah, still hoping it's just a bad first batch but for those that own them it's not fun playing russian roulette. 3-4 hours isn't bad if it saves you a bunch on the car and could be potentially saving you from paying for a new engine if modified. I've been tempted by a few dealers already but don't wanna kick myself for not waiting with a restyle coming out in less than a year.

Very true. All options are open right now.

I'm in the same boat though. Doubt we'll get as sweet of a deal on an 18 next summer like we can get on a 16 now...
