Do you guys have a stock or aftermarket exhaust? Are you still running the sound tube?
All stock here with sound tube. Think sound tube delete would help by chance?

Same here. Factory everything and I'm a little doubtful it would help. Just a hunch though.

Interesting people are getting nvh with the Steeda bracket. I didn't notice any with my 12 or 15 GTs. It definitely makes the shifter feel a bit more solid.
I did notice the nvh with the Whiteline bushing though, I even cut the center out. It made a noticeable difference in shifting with my 12 but I couldn't live with the nvh so I pulled it out.

I'm not running the stock exhaust anymore, so my car is just always loud. But I didn't notice it getting louder. Seems odd to me unless it's somehow touching.

Thud here.

I too am a bit particular but it is livable.

It seems to me like a driveline slop issue. But it's hard to pinpoint.

I'm not convinced it's the Torsen per se. My experience with aftermarket differentials is that any noise they produce is when they become actuated, that is, when torque is applied.

I seem to get the thud when attempting to enter the next gear, whether I actually make the shift or not.

Perhaps its the unloading of the Torsen? Or some axle wrap issue? Angular movement in the drivetrain during sudden deceleration...?

Still love the car.

I installed the Steeda trans bushing last night. Slight increase in NVH but really firms up the shifts. Great mod for the money!

Steeda Trans, Bushing.............

Have had the Steeda Trans, Bushing in my 2015 Mustang for a few weeks now, and I really think is a GREAT MOD, for the price of it..... I'm very pleased with it in my Mustang...... Wish I had put one in my 2014 GT Mustang.... I also really like the lower-end Steeda mods on my 2015 GT Mustang also...... Thanks Steeda....... Great Products.........

The car salesman has even driven the car and likes it very much, and is also a car buff....... :ford:

I've read good things about BG Syncro Shift II. I think I will put this in my trans along with doing my first oil change. Where are you guys buying it? Locally or online? I'm having a tough time finding it anywhere.
My Ford dealer sells it, they pushed it hard but I made them put the Ford stuff in. So I guess that gives BG plenty of credibility. I have had no issues with my transmission since I put the Barton shifter in it.

 I couldn't shift it to save my life. Normal driving was fine, but it refused to go into third with any speed. Since I put the shifter in the NVH is basically gone and you can just hammer every gear and it's just solid and consistent. The Barton is confidence inspiring. I see no need for any of the brackets or mounts unless you are drag racing with slicks and you're likely running solid motor mounts (or should be)

I used to get a bit of NVH with the factory shifter, I understand these transmissions are under rated junk but mines been fine so far. It's why I went with Ford fluid done at Ford. Paying for them to service and not having a claim denied when it decides to fail is worth it to me. I think the factory floppy shifter is the biggest issue with the transmission. You can easily break the transmission with that piece of crap. The shifter has been in the car for about half of it's 3600 miles. If I had it to do over it would have gone in day one. I was shocked when the dealer told me my fluid looked fine, I was expecting gear teeth to come pouring out from my second day of ownership when I discovered the gate between 1-3 :D Several times.

Thanks, Tim. Any specific reasons why Barton over MGW?

I am kind of in the camp if I can't go wrong with either which is making my decision pretty tough.

I found the same 1-3 gate and the rev limiter for the first time the other day.

First I think they are both a vast improvement.
Honestly the pull up ring to reverse which I appreciated Team Mustang giving that nod to the original 50 years before, Barton retained that. User adjustable shifter tension from inside the car after install. I still have mine as stiff as possible which reminds me occasionally when I do a lazy shift, but for track days (which is the sole purpose of my car-not DD) the stiffness rewards you by not missing shifts. Barton has isolated NVH extensively and I don't even care but the annoying buzz in the factory handle is gone. The shifter maintains alignment very well under all conditions even though the mounting is actually very solid, which you would think it would cause issues (one end connected to the transmission other to the body) but it just has the correct amount to work. Easy breezy installation with car ramps on your back. Install video is very good.

I know there are two camps and MGW has a huge following and builds a quality product but I love my Barton and being that it's the one I have experience with it's the one I recommend. I have never driven anything with a MGW so I have no opinion either way. I'm old and come from Joe's Pro5.0 Shifters for the T-5's and T-56's if anyone remembers that far back.

My car spends a lot of time on the rev limiter
