Had to have some fab work done to try and make the exhaust modular for when I go catless.


The catted pipes connect to the mid pipe with V bands so hoping it will be easy to swap in catless pipes .

Cut that x pipe out while you're ahead of the game. Trust me. We think it was doing some serious choking out of JoAnna's car last season. We picked up 5 mph last year when we ran open header. car was a consistent 150-152mph prior to running without it, pulled the muffler and the car didn't drop below 155 trap speed all year. Also we think that it was causing her heads to prematurely lift. Saw some movement in the coolant bottle mid 2020, yanked the mid muffler on a whim in OKC, never moved again. That thing cuts down to a single 3" center pipe for like 4" inside of it. @MagnaFlow needs to seriously rebrand that shit to say it's a dual Y, and NOT a true-X.

Go ahead and order yourself a Jones MF2469 off summit. 1/3 of the price and it's a TRUE X-pipe internally.

Did you run the 11386 or this one ?
The 11386 is what they advertise as a “true X” but I know it’s not .
When I looked inside this one it also looked like a Y .

I just spent $$ adding The V bands to this one and I am going to just drive it on the street for a while .

.... but when I eventually go to the cat less pipes and I am ready to race again I will swap to the Jones

Did you run the 11386 or this one ?
The 11386 is what they advertise as a “true X” but I know it’s not .
When I looked inside this one it also looked like a Y .

I just spent $$ adding The V bands to this one and I am going to just drive it on the street for a while .

we had the 12469 on it later year for the same reason “3 in, 3 out” too bad it isn’t a true 3” x internally. Luckily for you the Jones mode l looks identical side by side so it could be easily swapped out.

first pic is the Jones next to our old magnaflow. You can see where the magnaflow overheated and burnt through the stainless.
Next two are the internal construction of the Jones. Nice, open, breathable lol

@olaosunt how was the sound difference when you swapped from 2.5” to the 3”?

Not sure yet, haven't put it on since we've been fighting transmissions all year long but that's a debacle for another time. I would have to imagine the jones will be louder since it'll allow more air through.

It’s hard to compare since I had stock manifolds and cat deletes previously .

its VERY quiet now with the Kooks stepped headers /green cats and 3 inch resonator .

Drilled some holes through the top and bottom of the chamber, and shoved it in a muffler case lol

@olaosunt I think you might have a good idea why you were down on power (before hurting that cylinder)

Ordered the Jones - $73 at Jegs.
Another problem is the rest of the stock exhaust necks down anyway after the resonator.

So when I go to catless pipes/Jones mid pipe might be a good time to address that so it’s 3 inch all the way .

May be just get a 3 inch cat back system ?

As you can see it’s not very pretty right now but I am just going to enjoy the car on the street /nice and quiet for now while I break in the motor before spending anymore $$.
