I'll start by saying. I'm a decent enough driver. I've had a multitude of mustangs over the last 15 years and have gone to the 1/4 mile with everyone of them and usually run what I'm supposed to.

Friday night at Royalpurple Raceway in Baytown TX, weather was pretty idea. So everyone and their mother showed up, and only got 2 passes in.

First run - 13.1 @ 112.5 mph. Launch was a bog and then out, hit second gear and the wheel hop reared it's ungly head. I had to let up. Then back into it and hit third the car walked sideways enough to where I had to let up again, and then get back into the throttle. Rest of the run was okay.

Second run - 13.2 @ 113.2 mph. Launch was a violent wheel hop and spinning. Let out and got back into the throttle. Second gear did the same. Third was manageable this time. However the run was ruined from the start with a 2.4 60ft.

Mods - JLT cold air intake, Lund tune, mbpr street cat back, and new mod for these runs was the steeda irs bushings and subframe bushings.

On the street the car doesn't gets very little wheel hop if at all.

All of this was on the stock tires. I blame them the most. However. I do have new half shafts and long tubes. Going to get those installed and buy some drag radials. Hopefully my next time out I should see more consistent results.

Prior to the steeda mods, I ran a best of 12.8 @ 113 mph. Same issues was with the wheel hop.

Anyways. Wanted to let people know that the wheel hop can still exists even with the steeda parts at the track. Street it made a huge difference. I'll update once I have the half shafts and drag radials.

Sorry to see that the Wheel Hop is still there. It is because the track is stickier than the street...so when the tires try to actually grip, it sends the suspension into oscillation mode when the parts that deflect are not addressed thoroughly enough.

If you still have wheel hop after the Drag Radials, give me a call and I can get you taken care of.

I haven't been to the track yet, but the BMR cradle lockout helped me out bigtime on the street. I would get wheel hop in first and into 2nd on the street on the OEM PP pirellis, without even launching.

Similiar issues with me man, ran on stock pirellis and the wheel hop slowed down the car hugely. Im not playing games anylonger i have a set of DSS half shafts and im throwing in steeda subframe bushings and steeda billet aluminum vertical links. I already have the steeda subframe braces which helped with any street wheelhop but not the track. Also getting a pair of mickey thompson et streets for the rear

With a manual transmission you should really be running a slick. The car isn't going to like drag radials.
