Fwiw, today i ran a back to back comparo on tunes in my track aps. 2600 ft asl, 85 deg...not sure on DA...but high lol. Bot runs were made on my 2 step at 3300, shifting at 6800 to 6900. First i ran my unleashed 91 tune, at 82 deg ambient, 95 deg inlet temp. 13.9@100. Then, after loading my mpt tune, the temp was about 87 deg. Motor was heat soaked, inlet temps were in the 110 to 115 range at begining of pull. 13.7@102. Thats a good 15 to 20hp more on the mot, and it was warmer, and motor was heat soaked. Performed on same piece of road. Moral of the story...try mpt....
I have mpt right now. 89 prx because 89 octane was in the tank. I'm low right now and will mix 91 when I can get 89 as low as possible. Once I run the mix down, I will fill up with 91 and switch to 91 prx.

Also checked my wheels, they are 28lb front/29lb rear.

Yeah thats about 7 lbs more per wheel...doesnt sound like much but when your motkr has to spin up 14 extra pounds, thats a nice chunk. Are your tires bugger in diameter than the stock ones....if so, your hurting your gear ratio too

Did you send some datalogs to MPT to see if there is some improvements to be made on your setup? Datalogging is always a good thing. I was on 87 oct on stock tune (under 1000k on on odo.) trapping slightly over 100mph. Looks like there is some tweaks to be done here/there. You should also do a run with the stock wheels to see if that improves things well.

I have not data logged because MPT says it's not required. I'm going to the track on Friday and will do the following:

- Swap my octane and tune to 91 prx
- Swap my rear tires to my stock 17"

Another thing to note is that the track I go to is supposedly not prep'd for test and tune events.

Yeah, no prep certainly doesnt work. Play around with launch rpm for sure. For reference, my car just ran a 13.3@104 at 500ft elev, 91 deg temps, 110 deg inlet air temp. Wheel hopping amd spinnibg a bit. (On track aps)

I still would datalog/check your tune if I were in your shoes regardless of who you're tuning with. Your car isn't the one at MPT's dyno and there could be some tweaks that could make all the difference in the world. See this starting from post #26: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54648&page=2 Every car is different and there are too many variables between vehicles. That would mean every reputable tuner on this site who has customers who datalog are doing something wrong (which I highly doubt) if they could just have a "one size fits all tune" for a list of mods and be done with it (of course that's not how it works). If you have 6 months of free tuning updates (which should be free for life IMHO for n/a vehicles as most tuners do it) you might as well use it. Datalogged tunes are way better than a canned/base tune (even if the tune you have now is significantly better than stock). Datalogging is doing it right the first time and prevents you from swapping back and forth between tunes. It might really help your 1/4 mile times.

It's true, datalogging might help, I can't deny that. But I feel that would be pretty much min/maxing for like 0.1-0.2 sec. I'm rather certain that my problem is with the basics of launching and shifting. I will have someone else run my car on Friday and use that as a benchmark.

It can be more than that once it's dialed in. But I will agree it's a combination of things that need improvement and the same could be said for anyone who is at the drag strip practicing. I do believe the traps should be better with a tuned car (even on lower octane). That is where the datalogging part comes in if your traps do not increase after this experiment.

My stock 2018 Ecoboost ran great down in Florida on the 1st day of March (13.4 @ 105mph) with at least (2) hours between runs. As I traveled North to other track during the summer, I was stuck in the 14s and the hood of my car would get so hot I couldn't lift it between rounds! Didn't get back into the (high) 13s till October after coming back South to Kentucky!? Car definitely has limitations, but I still enjoyed racing!!
