Quick question. I can't figure out how can the car be launched at the track. If you hold the brake pedal and the gas the car just does a burnout. I don't think I have launch control as I can't find it in the track aps and the car is none pp. Any suggestions?

Rev n step...lol. Try 1500-2000 rpm hold on the brake. Or launch it off idle. What is your rear tires? Pressure?

Hold the brake good and tight with your left foot, rev to around 1800-2000 with right foot, simultaneously release brake and floor it on the 3rd yellow at a sportsman tree. Your technique might be different depending upon tire choice, tire pressure and track prep.

This, and have it in drag mode.

Yes....and before you get to the starting line, hold the traction contol/advance track toggle up a few seconds until you get "advance track off" message. Hit "OK."

I got 1.87 to 1.88 60's consistently launching at 1500-2000 on factory 255's.

It is odd but I accidentally launched from an idle on my last run of the season and still had a 1.87 60 foot time on drag radials. I had my head up my butt and the tree counted down sooner than I anticipated. These cars are more torquey than some people seem to think. Here is a 1.87 60 and 11.89 ET and you can see the gentle launch.

I am used to my old car DSG tranny which dumps the clutch so one can hold the brake pedal and the rpm will build up and stay there (kind of launch control). If I attempt the same with this car the RPM builds up and then the tires start spinning :) :) :) . I am on MT 305s.

I read somewhere that because we have torque converter that is always spinning and no clutch to dump we can just go from brake pedal to gas and it will be the same.

If you hold the brake firmly, I see no way you would spin 305 Mickeys at 1500-2000 rpm.

True. Spinning usually starts once you reach the stall RPM.

Sorry I was thinking holding it to higher RPM. At that low yes there is no spin but I cant build it any higher to lets say 3k. I am guessing what LSchicago said I am reaching the stall RPM.

I suggest experimenting with launch speeds.....but keep it under the speed where the brakes no longer hold it.

I need to experiment too. I got my DRs late in the season and was pretty cautious with my launch since I didn't know how they would react. Track was too busy to get enough runs to find the sweet spot.
