I'm a mechanic by trade, and this is how I treat others vehicles also, but not every mechanic has this mentality. I take pride in my work and because I'm a owner operator I feel that I gain my customers trust more so then a "employee" I myself never take anything back to the dealer, warranty or not. I do it myself. But I know where STEVE16 is coming from. My dad has owned and operated a body shop for over 45 years and takes great pride in his work, the dealer? Not so. They give it the production job. Get her in and out" that's all they care about.Wow... That's a terrible statement.
I just took mine in at 550 miles to get the oil changed. My choice mechanic is a senior master something or another there and the only one in the area... His credentials are on the wall about 10-12 times.
He told me to drive it on the lift... Asked me to watch the whole process... Laid mats over the fender, cloths under the funnel and across the valve cover, checked all fluids and then buttoned everything up as if it was his kid in a new diaper. He then asked me when I was going with racing brake fluid...;)
My Ford mechanic is great!
