Yup. I followed the instructions from Fords website. The only thing I can think of is the CPU I used was an old lap top we had because it's the only Windows based machine I have access to. Perhaps something went wrong on the initial DL but all the files appeared correct.

I did the update and it seemed to work. I didn't drive my car for 10 days (on vacation) and the first time I started it I got the stupid message. Have not seen it again, though.

If it comes up again I'll try turning off automatic updates.

You have any ad blocking software running?. If so, you need to disable it for the ford website. Or white list the ford website.

I have mine set to auto update, but it does’t matter what I do because mine still gives me the proverbial F-U/middle finger when it does... My Android Auto refuses to work since the Sync 3 update and my Note 9 updated. I keep it on Sirius and just say F-it...

I bought a mint used 2018 and has an old Sync 3 build. I get the pop ups and is driving me crazy. I tried the USB update and my Sync gets in a whacky loop of changing screens and keeps recycling and recycling but doesn’t actually update. After quite some time on the phone with the help desk they advised me to take to the dealership. This experience unfortunately has put a big dent in my blissful honeymoon period with my new purchase.

My computer in the garage wouldn't pull the update, but my work laptop will.. I'll get it taken car of tonight. Funny thing was that the person at Sync "care" or whatever they call it, said that my build (17276) was up to date..

Finally got through Ford’s incredibly laggy website and got the update downloaded. Here’s to hoping. E91F1BF9-5CF7-4EAC-8D82-5A7D6E21F928.jpeg

Build 18093. I couldn't get it to come up on the scan at home, but could at work, but alas my employer doesn't want anything walking out on flash drives..... so I had to use that link to download at home.

Mine would not update with the USB drive formatted to FAT32. I had to format it to exFAT like someone said and it worked perfectly. 8GB USB drive/exFAT.

That is the direct link I got for the update. I don't believe they would be VIN specific, but I could be wrong.

Nope. Yesterday I always got an endlessly spinning circle after clicking on "SYNC software updates" even after disabling ad-blocking extensions, whitelisting the Ford site, using different PC's and different web browsers. Chatted with Ford Support who said they are getting a lot of complaints on this and have notified their web site team. "Sorry, sir. Please try it again tomorrow." Well, tomorrow (today) is no better. Worse yet he could not tell me what the latest build was for my 2018 SYNC 3.0 nor tell me another way to get it. I'm currently running at 3.0 build 17276.

At least I did learn that there are different development branches (build streams) for the different SYNC versions (3.0 vs. 3.3) and that I should never expect my 2018 running 3.0 to upgrade to 3.3 which is for 2019+. I can only expect newer builds within the 3.0 branch. So the best way to mention our SYNC versions would be something like 2018 v3.0.17276.
