So.......I've had my car for coming up on two months now.

EVERY time I get in the car it asks me to connect to wifi to complete an update. I have connected it to wifi at my house with good signal, I have connected it to my phone as a hotspot, tried to check for updates manually, and this message come up every time still. Anyone else had this issue?

Tons of threads. Update via USB
That's not going to help. My car is on the latest rev and I've been getting the same messages. The popup messages are a known fault for which Ford does not currently have a true fix. At the current time, Ford's best advice is to turn off automatic updates, although someone has indicated that that will not solve the issue.

I can try this today to see if it makes a difference.

OP didn't post the version of Sync that he has and it may need to be updated. I don't get any messages on my car and it has the latest Sync update.

Mine is a 2019, just purchased a couple of months ago with Sync 3.

Ford site says it takes 60-90 minutes to update and car has to be connected to WIFI and running.

I've also been getting the messages. I will try the ford procedure over the weekend and let everyone know what happens.

I tried the USB update and the "auto run" never took. I plugged it in, it read the USB, but nothing happened. I drove for about 30 minutes with the USB in and it never upgraded.

It makes zero sense that the auto update via WI-FI requires the car to be running. The whole idea is when it is in the garage/driveway it updates and you don't even notice it. Ford dropped the ball here.

The car needs to be running only when updating via USB. Wi-Fi updates can happen at anytime you’re connected to the network. Like many others I’ve given up on Wi-Fi and do updates solely by USB.

Here’s a stupid question;

Where do I get the update to download to a USB?
