The ad is entertaining at best, the guy can spin a tale . . . and he had a bunch of issues with the car and trouble with the dealers in the area that won't service it to his liking.

Of he was going to lie about the car's ability; he should have used Ford's advertising.

You use to drive a CLA45 and a Subaru WRX, you can't ridicule anybody
Hey at least I wasn't online trying to sell my AMG saying "its the fastest AMG in the lineup, the 4cyl turbo is lighter than all the V8's so it handles better and outperforms the C63 in every way" and other nonsense.

And what the hell is wrong with a WRX or CLA45!? What were you driving when you were 19 and 23? :D

The WRX was actually pretty fast for what it was, surprised quite a few 5.0's and Camaro SS's ;)

Some false statements but some truth to it as well. I own a 2016 Base Shelby GT350 as well. There were 40 Black Base Models for 2016 and I have a Magnetic Car which there were 25 made. There are only a total of 88 Base cars in the US. There are 240 "R" 2016 models in the US so the base would be more rare than the "R". 2016 was the only year that the Base was produced. I don't know where he got that the Base would be Faster than "R". The "R" has better Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, Carbonfiber wheels, and more suspension tuning & magnetic suspension so I would say it is faster around the track.

For 2016 Production #'s see link:
http://gt350.registryclubs.com/pdf/gt350_20160420.pdf
Let's not leave out BASE R MODELS alright? On the 350 registry link it shows only 39 BASE R models built vs. a total of 321 BASE *NON R* models in 2016. Not even sure if this is the most up to date register, I thought slightly over 50 BASE R cars were built in 2016.

For 2017, I think slightly under 15 BASE R cars have been built so far and we're close if not at chassis HR300.

I know, just messing with you as well :D

They were good for what they were, the WRX just a cheap AWD 4cyl that is pretty slow stock. Got to mod it to get any jam in it. The CLA was a superb daily driver, but just lacked a great sound and not enough power for a 3600lb car.

In contrast, the R has surpassed every expectation, and I'll be keeping this sucker forever :headbang::cheers:

Still love my 2015 AMG45 very fast with stage 2, sold it for my 2017 Golf R with APR stage 2, now just got a 2017 WRX on Friday to build up and now with 3 Fast cars I won't be bored.

I posted this in another thread too... but....

if it is the same guy that I chatted with, he's had quite a few issues with his car and the dealership that he bought it through.

As I understood it, they "detailed " the car and burnt through the paint, botched the splitter install, and the service department took his car for a joyride to the point that they put it into limp mode. Beyond that, when his car was there for service they let a prospective customer test drive it in hopes of selling an incoming gt350 allocation.

All that and Ford refused to help with the scenario in any way ( Ford did something similar to me.)

I dont fault him for trying to sell the car, but i do fault him for the misinformation.

If the car was priced appropriately, it would be a nice build platform for the aftermarket magneride setup with tuned controller that ridetech will be selling, as well as a procharger or turbo setup, BUT his asking price is a bit "crazy".

all that being said, he also told me that he had received a spot for a GT and had a 50K deposit down on it, after his woes with his gt350, he told me that he asked for his deposit back and wasnt going to proceed with it. Whether there is any truth to that or not, I have no clue, but that's what he told me.

Whether his price is ridiculous or not, it seems his interest in freeing himself of the car was ushered in by his dealer's mishandling of issues and Ford unwillingness to step in, which is eerily similar to my scenario.

I, on the other hand, have chosen to keep my car ( because I love it more than any other option, even at 3x the price) and just deal with paying for repairs out of pocket.

Do you know what I would do if that happened to me? I would probably be facing charges.

Yeah teh 45AMG's are very quick with just a downpipe and a tune, guys in the UK are running 11.8's with just those two mods at like 117mph, pretty impressive for a little 4cyl!

Engineers from AMG have stated they pushed the motor itself to over 700hp without anything breaking, but the transmissions are the weak link there.

Do you know what I would do if that happened to me? I would probably be facing charges.

Thinking the same thing, the dealership would have been burnt down if they didn't basically give me a new car haha
