Definitely a lot of stuff to consider and regularly inspect when pushing these cars to the limits... scary how much one thing can potentially ruin your day. The scary part to me is the oil drain plug could have been way more serious of an issue for anyone behind you too. Shit happens, things get missed, we're human (ish)! good job reminding us all to be more diligent though!

The Ford drain plugs have a rubber gasket embedded in the flange around the head of the bolt. They're idiot proof. The problem is that mother nature is working tirelessly to upgrade and improve the capabilities and performance of idiots.

So isn’t torquing an oil filter to spec but we all know how that worked out..
Mother nature is cunning. She slips the occasional idiot into engineering teams.
