Thanks for your comment. That's another thing entirely. Badly written laws are able to be challenged so it's surprising to me that any loosely written noise law could survive the process, maybe Texas is just special in that regard. I think the police are often uninformed regarding the law, rights, and so forth, and rely on judges to back them up, judges that could be very biased, depending on location. That's why certain attorney's will file cases in certain parts of the country so that they go to trial in a favorable environment. Lots of recent voter suppression laws were struck down in several states. The point being, the system does work, eventually, even if everyone is not 100% happy with the result.
America has a shit ton of loosely written(and frankly arbitrary) laws they are not uncommon. And they almost never change them once the law is passed. Look at NY state gun laws.

OR even worse I cant get a drink in a fully nude strip club in a lot of states. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

There ought to be a law ... that for every new law, two old ones must be removed.
To be honest that a great idea at that very least a 1 for 1. And they should be limited to like 5 pages. lol

I respect cops as a rule, but I believe that some can be wrong, have bad training, have a bad day, or some can even by jerks.

Same with laws, I believe most laws protect us and make our country the best in the world, but I see that some are outdated, excessive, or some groups' special project. Laws seem to be added and added on top of each other just building more and more regulations that we must follow.

I believe there should be a review of laws across the country with each jurisdiction reviewing its own laws and removing laws that are outdated, unenforced, or unreasonably infringe on the individual.

After this I think all laws must have an expiration date or be "repassed" and signed back into law.

This way the legislature will only have time to work on truly important laws and not special interests. And police will only be asked to enforce the laws that truly protect us.

The fact you think that is a response to what I said is shocking. Those "few" incidents are more then other places of similar size
Sorry, but you're painting all of law enforcement with a very broad brush and that is lazy, thoughtless, naive, and unfair. I'm more shocked that you think you know anything about the people who live down here aside from what the media must have fed you and you blindly gobbled up. You know nothing, and it must be a terrible feeling to be a drone.

I never sad ALL police where shady since that is obviously not the case. I said they were one of the MORE shady police forces as is the NYPD. Does that mean all the police are shady? NO? Does it even mean most of them are shady NO?

If you are to lazy to think about a comment in anything other then a knee jerk fashion that is your loss.

You my friend are the drone with your emotional response.

In May 2010, at the invitation of Mayor Mitchell J. Landrieu, the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) began investigating an alleged pattern of civil rights violations and other misconduct by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD). On March 16, 2011, the DOJ issued a written report alleging unconstitutional conduct by the NOPD and describing the DOJ’s concerns about various NOPD policies and procedures.

I too have always suspected that Louisiana consists of a single police department, and only one city.

Most cops I've met have been cool, like a typical cross section of society.

I got pulled over several times when I was young. One time when I was 18, a cop pulled me over for accelerating excessively from a light (he was behind me, doh!) Turns out that he was part of a chase that happened when I had been car-jacked a few months earlier. He remembered the car and we ended up discussing where the bullet holes were on my car. "Slow down and have a nice day". I guess he felt sorry for me. I've always been very compliant and courteous to officers. Goes a long way. It's something that some people are too dumb to understand. Give respect if you want it.

Now, I'm usually getting passed by the guy in his Prius, late for work. Doesn't mean I don't let it rip here and there. On ramps are a given. There's a road in my area that is the perfect place. Recent new concrete, lonely stretch, no side streets intersecting for a good mile, and straight as an arrow. Bumped it up briefly. It's crazy how linear this car accelerates. 60-80-100. It just keeps wanting to climb. I can see how it would tempting to keep a foot in it. Saw something low slung on the horizon and finally caught up to a Lotus out for a leisurely drive. He for sure knew I was being cheeky.

Beware, our car is a police magnet.

I got ticketed for $150 by police after exiting an airport ramp for "excessive noise and undue acceleration" for violating a vague and ambiguous provision in our traffic laws. The cops did not claim they had measured the decibels of my exhaust or that I was speeding.

I did have the GT350 in sports mode and a cop stationed inside the airport heard the sound and had another cop pull me over.

I challenged the ticket in court and won. One up for the GT350.

Ain't that the truth, I have a lot of cops shooting laser around town and I've been getting painted in the mornings on the way to work ever since I got this car.

One morning I even had a motorcycle cop shoot me as I'm driving up to him, then after I drove by he turned around and shot me from behind.

Good thing Waze has a lot of contributors around here.

Yeah im city folk bad habit.. Do you want more evidence outside of NO?
I don't want or need anything from someone who paints law enforcement with such a broad brush. You've shown how you feel and I've shown I think you're clueless. There's nothing else for either one of us to do here except continue arguing, and I don't care enough to press the point.

Beware, our car is a police magnet.
Even the regular GT is a cop magnet, I can't imagine what kind of attention a 350 gets. I've been pulled over twice in this car, once by county cops and once by city cops. Luckily I wasn't ticketed either time. In both cases I was accelerating way too vigorously and was told they pulled me over for a "show of power". Both times they complimented the car and its sound but told me to slow down and drive more safely. No ticket and no warning. They could have totally made my life hell with the speeds I reached before slowing down, but they were cool and gave me a second (and then a third) chance, on top of complimenting the car. I've been respecting the speed limit ever since, although I do notice cops tend to follow me around town sometimes, probably waiting for me to do something.
