All seasons or winter tires?

I have those exact wheels -- 18x8 Sport Edition A8 with the Michelin XIce tires. No TPMS; I've gotten used to it now, just have to hit "OK"" every time I start the car. Don't even notice it at this point.

Really? I literally have had the warning come up about 3 times. And never right at start.

So with no TPMS, all you have to do is go to the gas station and check your tire pressure yourself to see if its low? Otherwise no loss?

It beeps at you on startup until you hit OK. That's it.

if i went with a dual wheel setup, i wouldnt skip the TPMS. i think its only like 150 at the most

Assuming you can actually get them now. When I bought my wheels, it was next to impossible - maybe even impossible.

They're out of stock everywhere. TireRack said they couldn't get them until March.

Has anyone tried the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season tires? From what I can see is they do really well in nearly all driving conditions with moderate success (compared to 0 for the Michelin A/S PS-3s) in ice and snow. We get snow like 3 times a year, but I'd hate to have taken the car to Chicago in November and end up getting hit with some snow and not being able to leave.

Blizzaks are the best winter tire out there IMO

For a all season Michelin A/S 3 tops the charts for me as well.

Blizzaks are great. I'm currently using X-Ice i3 and very happy with them. I can't really compare because the Blizzaks I had were on a very different car.

What do you consider the Michelin A/S top at? Are you referring to them being used in winter or as a summer performance A/S.

There's always compromise. All seasons that are decent in the winter are usually subpar for dry summer performance.

They come stock on some 15 Mustangs. The EB Premium I test drove had them.

There's always compromise. All seasons that are decent in the winter are usually subpar for dry summer performance.

Summer all season for the A/S 3 and in rain as well.

For snow I tell everyone you want to use dedicated snow tires there is nothing else you can really compare those with.

My EB Premium came stock with them. I can't speak for long term performance, but so far I'm actually quite pleased. Quiet and grippy, and I actually drove my Mustang home in a snowstorm with an inch or two of snow on the roads. I was expecting to slide around like crazy but I didn't slip at all.

I'm hoping they stand up long term...I ran two sets of Goodyear Eagle GT's on my old car and after they wore down a bit they became insanely loud and lost pretty much all of their wet traction. Completely different tire of course, but still...

See this is what I'm hearing. Nearly identical performance to the The Pilot Sport A/S 3 in the cold, significantly better when dealing with snow (apparently they are absolutely horrible in the snow.) with comparable wet weather driving and fantastic feedback and grip as far as dry driving goes. While also warrantied for 45k miles! :shocked:
The Stock PZero Nero's are horrible in the rain, too prone to having the back end kick out in the cold, which messes with my confidence in the car. (though Motor Trend did say that if you stiffen the suspension it will fix the Perilli's in the corners... But I'm seeing reports of over all grip improvements with the F1's on forums and review sites and was hoping for some decent input from some 'Stang owners who have them.

I don't understand why they don't have a uniformed series of tests when it comes to tires. I want to know my stopping distance in 100 degree, 50, 30, 10, Wet, dry, Snow, Ice followed by cornering stats for similar weather and temps. Surveys and reviews are nice and all, but they are subjective, and rarely are people going to have all 5 - 10 tires I'm considering over a long period of time past the break in point to compare them to.
