Thanks for the reply Alex! So basically as I thought a tune is strongly suggested in order to see maximum power gains but is not required for the car to operate correctly. Usually when I see "required" it means that the car will not run with the part installed....

Any word on BAMA's progress with the V6?
Traditionally with MAF-equipped cars, if you install A Cold Air Intake you'll throw a check engine light and the car will be inoperable, but in this case you can bolt it on and it will run. Its not required, but it's recommended to have a tune installed in order for the car to run more efficiently and perform as best as possible. Without a tune the car will still try to adjust for the cold air intake and fuel mileage, performance, and driveabiltiy will suffer.

SCT is probably 30-90 days from having V6 support. Bama is working on some stuff behind the scenes but it will be 30-90 days until they can provide their customers with a product for the 2015 V6.

If this map system operates like the one on my 1st Gen Lightning or the '86-'88 5.0 Musangs, any change in the air flow (cai, TB, exhaust) will not affect the drivability. It's not until you start fiddling with cam profiles that it goes ballistic and can't compensate. The only tune required cai for the earlier Cyclones was the Steeda, and that was due to the larger dia tubing at the MAF sensor location. However, with the timing/fuel being PCM controlled, tuning will be needed to maximize the gains and fine tune the a/f. I'm curious if the V6 PCM can adjust for boost like the EB...which, BTW, is also a map system.

Wow, was hoping they would be a little further along.... Non the less thanks for the info! Glad to know they are at least working on it for us V6 owners.

This is the Airaid intake I installed for our cars today. It looks good and gives the car a nice little growl when accelerating on top of the improved throttle response. I did not see if there was any performance gain as far as 0-60 times yet or not due to the fact it's been raining all day. And there was supposed to be a nice airaid sticker put on the cover but I forgot lol. Will keep you guys posted tomorrow if there is an improvement.

The intake is awesome! It sounds very good when accelerating and has a very loud growl when stomping the gas. Very pleased with the results thus far.

The CAI looks awesome!! Can't wait till I hear it. It should go well with that tune
Oh trust me you will like it especially with the tune. BTW install is pretty easy it comes with directions. Took me about 35 mins or so with a friend taking our time.

Nice clean work-looks very nice with the blue too.

any chance you can get video?

Dyno?

More and more I am leaning towards picking up a 3.7. The price of these things make it an incredible buy.

cheers

I can try to get a video and sound clip of it but I'm not sure how the quality of it will be with my phone (Samsung galaxy note 4) I know most people use a go pro. As far as getting it on a dyno I don't think I will do that for a while. For now I will go off 0-60 times and quarter mile times to judge if there is any increases in performance

I have the same phone. Video and sound quality can be very good with the right light.

whats your 60 and 100 times?

How's the sound?
The sound is great. I notice the best sound between 3,000- 5,000 RPM and taking off from a stop. The more throttle, the better the sound gets. I'll try and get an audio clip from inside the car this evening.
