Hi all, I installed the Ford Performance PP2 in my '16 GT and am only realizing now after the fact that I could have checked the "Air Inlet Temp" in the digital gauges beforehand to see how big of a difference the CAI was making. Figured I'd toss it out here to see if anyone had done this themselves. Let me see if I can articulate this well:

If you've got the stock intake, about what is the difference between your air inlet temp and ambient temperature at a given time?

There is obviously a bunch of variables here, but here are a couple of data points I have from the last day:

1. Driving through stop & go on a busy Chicago street yesterday afternoon, ambient temp in the high 60's: Inlet Temp would be around 100F when moving at about 30mph, would get up to 120F when stopped long enough.

2. Driving on the highway this morning with little traffic, ambient temp in the mid 50's: Inlet temp was in the low 60's.

Obviously looking at too opposite extremes there, but curious if anyone with a stock intake and could provide some context.

Thanks!

The stock airbox will do maybe 5-7* better than the GT350 intake cruising and up to 20* in stop and go driving.

Full throttle I've seen IATs within a few of ambient, much like the stock intake.

So unless you're racing in stop and go traffic, the more open intake is not going to hurt you at all in terms of IAT timing/power compared to stock.

Yeah, I figured there wouldn't be anything too nuts with if it can let you keep the warranty. I also get that most of the power comes from the tune itself. Still, would have been nice to see what actual difference the GT350 intake was making.

Stock box with drop in. This afternoon it was about 102 out, iat about 105-107, but jumped to 115 sitting in the heat.

How long were you sitting before it jumped that high?

Uncovered parking lot before heading into the gym. At least 5 min. Totally not unexpected here. You know how our summers can be 😁

Yesterday 102 per car thermometer, IAT anywhere from 107 to 111 while moving, hit 118 once at a stoplight, probably only at the light for a minute or two.
