That is so weird that people report completely opposite experiences with Nitto's. Most posts I see here is people hating on them, but there are some that love em.
Specifically the 555r2 though. Its their next gen streetable drag radial.

Got a 5mm hub centric spacer set in today. Threw it on. Took a video and photo but doesn’t show much detail. I was able to slide a credit card between the rim/tire strut easily and the wheels pins free of any issue. This is all suspension unloaded but based on my understanding of a macphearson strut system the strut clearance shouldn’t change with load or camber. (Right?).
Anyways, it’s a 2mm difference but I noticed a ton more stud available to mount. Got 4-5 full turns on the lugs.

Think I could get away with returning the FRPP hubs?

Yeah clearance won't change under load. Looking at your photo I now doubt about 305/30 clearing that spring support plate as my wheel is 5mm more in diameter. What spacer did you use? I couldn't find a hub centric one.

That photo is deceptive. It’s from the rear and the spring perch actually contours down with the wheel. I’ll take a front shot. @Jonas-RR-GT is running a 305/30/20 on a 10.5 Velgen up front with an 8mm spacer. He didn’t have any clearance issues with his Classic 5s or VMB6s.
This is the spacer I’m using. It was a snug fit but I prefer that.

Here is a front photo. I can stick my finger between the tire and spring mount plate easily. The photos are deceptive.

Wow it looks like there's a ton of clearance between the wheel and the strut. I feel like it would fit even with a thinner spacer. And from this angle it looks like mine should clear the top. Thanks for the photo.

upd: Ok, for the sake of the experiment I just ordered 3mm spacers.

I have a 2020 mustang gt and picked up Velgen vf5 20x10 et 34 and 20x11 et52 . I also have 285/35 and 315/35 rear nitto 555 g2.

I’m looking at lowering springs . Ford Performance x sport 1 inch all around or steeda progressive sport 1.125 inch front and 1 inch rear. Would it clear with no rubbing ?

thanks

I run 20x10 +35 front and 20x11 +50 rear on 285/35 and 315/35 on FP springs just fine. Not sure I could get away with those Steedas though would be cutting it close. You're also gonna want something better in the rear for traction. The g2 are fine in front but can't hook power in the rear. Their 555r2 can handle power and still dd and even take rain fyi.

Hey y’all, I’m trying to get the forgestar f14 front 19x9.5 +29 and 19x11 +56 with 285/35 on the front and 325/30 on the back but the vendor said they wouldn’t fit??

I suppose he's saying rears wouldn't fit. I don't see why. People on the forums running 20x11 +50 305/30 without any rubbing. I don't see why a smaller overall diameter wheel wouldn't fit. Yes, yours is almost an inch wider, but there's enough clearance in the back. If anything, you can always put a 5mm spacer to push out the wheel more, but I don't think you'll need it.

They said “the rear wheels are going to sit quite far into the wheel well and might rub suspension and brake components and the front is aggressive for my vehicle”, I got the specs for these wheels from a member on here so the vendor has me confused now

This is what I’m going for with continental extreme contact sport tires

I don't think they know what they're talking about. Plenty of members here run much more aggressive specs in the front. I run a 10.5 +40 in the front and they fit perfect without any rubbing and your front wheels would stick out 2mm less than mine. Heck, front PP2 wheels are 10.5 +24 and although they stick out a bit people manage to make them fit nicely with proper height and camber adjustment . It also depends on your suspension settings. Is it stock? I wouldn't even worry for the rears. They should fit no problem.
