Questions for those of you who say the sensor automatically synced up. If one tire goes low on pressure does the dash information have the correct tire being low?

The reason I'm asking is from what I've read about these things is each sensor has a unique identity and without doing the training procedure the car has no idea which sensor is at which corner of the car. So you'll get a warning of low pressure but it would probably not be the tire you're being warned about.
Sure, it pairs automatically each wheel and shows appropriate pressure and updates it every few minutes or so, pressure goes up once tyres heat up, this is all shown. It knows which wheel (sensor) is where. Haven't test to lower pressure myself but a friend did it and it showed the wheel properly. The listening sensor must be close to the wheel so it reads only the closest wheel's sensor, this system seems pretty easy.

Later I found that S550 doesn't need the reset tool, that's only needed for S197. At least for the oem TPMS sensors. This is awesome because one can rotate left/right or switch summer/winter sets without any hassle.

When I bought my first set of aftermarket wheels, I could not get the TPMS sensors to work, even with the tool. Turned out one of them was bad. When the bad one was replaced they synced up automatically and showed the correct pressure of each tire.

I recently installed new Steeda wheels and the new TPMS sensors synced right up without training needed.

Good day to all. I am considering ordering correct Ford sensors.
What spec/part number, and where best place to get em cept Ford dealer?
Suppose they would sync with system or the handheld tool?
Thanks much. Dave

It all depends on whether you have US or EU spec. There's difference in frequencies. US are 315 MHz, EU are 433 MHz. Schrader makes them for Ford. If you can source them, they are exactly the same, work with programming tool and are 1/2 of the OEM price. I just bought for my EU Spec Schrader 3023 (433 MHz) and trained it with programming tool from AliExpress. Worked like a charm and they read tire pressure immediately.

People also buy from TireRack.
I've purchased 3 sets (12 total) of TPMS sensors from Tire Rack, only 1 was bad and they sent a replacement immediately. Their prices are great and I'll continue to buy sensors from them when needed.

Thanks for the info.
I have tried all these methods.
The tire shop SAID they installed new schrader? sensors, but they couldnt get em to train, so I wasnt charged for them.Hmm
In looking at carfax for this car,I believe these RoVos wheels have been on for many of its 5 years, with no sensors. Is it possible that the computer has simply forgotten this or went to sleep?
Im not ready to say heck with it, I sorta have and just enjoy driving it.
But I would really like this feature to work.
As always, I appreciate your input.
Best regards, Dave n Frosty

Did they install oem sensors? If so they should sync up on their own. I switch wheels all the time and have no issues but I made sure to purchase oem tpms sensors.

Just went thru this for first time ever.

Bought new wheels/tires from AM, checked out and next day read something about , get the Ford Oem sensors so they train themselves.

Crap, I didn’t , and skipped the programming tool.

Tires showed up, tried both ways mentioned and nothing would sync

So, bought the cheapest Tim’s tool with Ford part number off Amazon.

Showed up yesterday and on first try after doing the brake pedal, start on/off 5 times , brake pedal once , then start/stop a few more times till it beeped and took my $10 Chicom tpms tool vs $45 at Am tool and it synced all the first time , with no worries.

This one

I had a GM tool, no go. So got a new ford/gm and others tool.
After getting into train mode (honk) each tire honked as I applied the tool to it.
So that sync'ed the position. Had to drive it to get pressures displaying. Centrifugal switch .... or polling rate is minutes apart ... or both. Pressures aren't accurate till its run.

Can only suspect frequency is not Ford? sensors, or tool?

However .... tire shops, have a tool that can talk to the sensors and get info. They dont charge - or didnt me when I had an intermittent sensor & wanted to know battery strength of them.

Go there first before spending $$

Latest news. I have 4 fomoco tps coming. When I get them, tire shop will install for a small fee, which I am ok with.
Question is, do I let them try to train the sensors, or,seeing as how they supposed to be oem, will the car train itself while driving, like I have read in some of your posts?
I have the tool from AM.
Whattya think?
Best regards, Dave

They don’t have to do anything, they’ll sync to your car on their own. It may take 10-30 minutes of driving.

I ordered and recieved fomoco tps units off ebay, and had them installed yesterday at my tire shop.
On the drive home they didnt sync up,so when I hit the drive, I got the programmer and the voodoo sheet for it, and went at it.
Low and BEHOLD, the varmints trained up!! Hallelujah!
it is SO nice to Not see the display every time I fire up.
I appreciate all your help.
This has been a educational 'sperience for this ol boy.
Best regards, Dave and Frosty

you have a '17 which may explain the 'car playing stupid' aspect of this and needing the interrogation device. 18+ cars are much smarter about it.
