I thought I read some place that the GTs are electronically limited via computer module to 155 MPH, but what I think C&D is saying is the car is capable of doing 164 MPH (which would be with 3.31 diff and in 5th gear) if there is limiter kicking in.I talked to the dealer Friday night, guy actually seemed to know what he was talking about, he tracks his mustangs also. He said the GTPP is limited to 155, but Car & Driver says 164.
Anyone know what the real scoop is on the electronic limiter setting on the GTs?
It would probably slowly get there when in 6th gear, but it would take a lot of road. My calculator says a GT needs about 250 RWHP to go 155 MPH, so I'd imagine the 5.0 is probably putting out at least 250 RWHP at 4800 RPM which equates to 155 MPH is 6th gear with 3.73 differential gears. Can the GTPP even get to 155 with a 3:73 and that tall 6th? Thinking not based on what I see here.
