I don't remember getting tired, or the hood being too heavy. More like the prop rod being in the way when working under the hood.

Try not to skip arm day.
Oh I’m just worn out all over - and I agree with the prop rod being in the way.

I installed the Redline hood struts on my '19 Wrangler Rubicon. They work great. Will be installing the same on my Mustang.

This, along with pinching the washer fluid line, are the reasons I haven't purchased them yet.
Just a tip:

I had the pinched line issue. There is enough slack in the line to pull some additional up from the fender area. Simply do that, adjust the plastic clip that holds the line to the hood so that you have a little "u" shaped slack, and problem solved. The line will lay around the fender mount instead of being pinched by it. :like:

I saw this and looked up struts for my YJ. They do not offer them, but not too bummed because many times I like to work under the hood with it laying back against the windshield for more light. If I had to unhook them each time I did that it would not be worth it.

Sounds like a good solution.
My "V slot" took the shape of a razor-thin split; the rubber lies flat, likely not seen unless you're looking for it.

A picture would be nice.
Sorry to be so tardy. It seems that a couple of heat/cool cycles caused the battery cover to reshape itself: the rubber still lies flat, but is no longer aligned well. Maybe let it be for a few more cycles and trim?

I installed the Steeda hood struts and couldn't be happier. The beauty of Steeda is that you can do the job without any help as no one is needed to help support the hood during install. I was hesitant to cut the battery cover to allow for the battery side mounting clip to be installed but I used a tapered drill bit and drilled the hole to about 1" diameter. The hole in the battery cover looks like it came from the factory. The hood struts work very well and I'd do it again. Steeda knows Mustangs.

My very first Mod was to install those Redline hood struts. It should be everyone's mandatory first Mod IMHO.

Does anybody know the pound rating on the shocks stock I have MRT and with the hood scoop they are not strong enough in cold weather

Very easy to prevent. loosen the clips for the line, give it a slight pull to give the line a slight curve to clear the strut base then click the clips back in place.
Good idea to cut away the battery cover at the strut base instead of drill a hole; much easier to check the battery.

Just an FYI. Steeda are the strongest struts that I have used. Also, I love Steeda great customer service. Unfortunately, now I'm using Redline. 2018+ owners beware with Steeda Hood Stuts. I'm not convinced my car is unique, but I had an issue with my 2019 and Steeda hook struts. Both struts have worn off the paint on my hood from touching. Steeda was working with me on replacement but I decided to go with Redline. Check your hoods!!! I will post a pic if I can remember how to do it.

Redline user here, very happy. Had them on my '15 so needed to order new bottom brackets for the '19 (they now only make the new style that fits 15-20).
