I installed the Steeda hood struts and couldn't be happier. The beauty of Steeda is that you can do the job without any help as no one is needed to help support the hood during install. I was hesitant to cut the battery cover to allow for the battery side mounting clip to be installed but I...
I'm sure the Ford dealer wasn't expecting that. Beautiful car but, I can't believe Ford would let it leave Flat Rock with that knock. I wonder if it was messed with after leaving Flat Rock; nevertheless, it's the dealer's problem now. If I just laid down $90K on a new GT500 and it sounded...
Let's see, you're 25 and this Stang is to be a weekender only. Money doesn't seem to be a determining factor for things like gas and insurance. Assuming you're single, get the GT and the girls will love it - that 5.0L Coyote is a fun car to drive and sounds great.
If you really like shifting, then I'd suggest you get one while they're still being offered. My guess is they will be obsolete in 5-10 years and the value of those manuals bought now will likely increase. Sorry to say the future rides with the 10R80.
My first new car was a '70 Cutlass in Sherwood Green. I was a junior engineering student at the Univ. of Houston. I loved that car. I put a hole in the headliner moving a textbook from the backseat to the front in a haste to make a class - boy was I pisxxd. Great car those Oldsmobiles...
I just completed my first oil change at 1750 miles on my new 2019 Mustang 5.0L GT using 5W-20 Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil with a Motorcraft filter. Mobil was a pioneer in the development of synthetic oils and I've used their product in several other cars before never having a single...
I installed the JLT oil separator on my '19 GT and it's already starting to catch oil. Very simple install.
The can probably doesn't remove all the oil in the vapor return line but it's impressive how much it does catch and that oil is never returned to the combustion chamber again. I gotta...
I know Ford uses Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W-20 from the factory in the 5.0L engines. Ford dealerships will normally use this same oil when doing an oil change unless the owner specifies otherwise.
Which brand of oil and weight did you go with at the first oil change? Did you use any...
Anyone using the JLT Oil Separator on a 2018-2019 Mustang GT please respond. I'm considering this for my 2019 GT but the photos I've seen of the JLT oil separator on the 5.0L Coyote look to be very tight regarding removal of the can to drain the captured oil. The engine shroud also seems to...
When should an air-oil separator be considered for a 5.0L Coyote engine to extract the oil from the air before it's sent back to the intake manifold? From what I've read, this is more of an issue on the passenger side of the engine although a catch can could be installed on the driver side as...
I assume the 5.0L Coyote engine in the 2019 GT comes from the factory with Motorcraft synthetic/blend 5W-20. What are your thoughts as to when one can change to a full synthetic motor oil, i.e. Mobile 1 Extended Performance 5W-20?
I've read before to avoid switching to full synthetic too...
At first, I didn't like the black wheels, but they've grown on me a lot. To me, a lot has to do with the color of the car. My '19 GT is Ingot Silver Metalic and the PP1 black wheels look really nice. I fear putting an aluminum finish wheel against a silver color wouldn't do much to contrast...
Anybody using Shaeffer motor oil 5W-20 or 5W-30 in their 5.0L Coyote?
Also, regarding all the posts on engine ātickā, has anyone tried using Shaeffer Moly EP Oil Treatment? This additive should work in any brand of oil and is claimed to bond to the internal metal surfaces to increase...
Iām 70 yrs young and just recently bought my first Mustang. A new 2019 GT PP1. I was 15 when the ā64-1/2 Mustang was first released to the public. I thought that was the greatest car ever built and dreamed about owning one for years. Now, 55 yrs later, a new GT is in my garage next to my...
