Did anyone who had the active exhaust option ditch it when going aftermarket, if so did you regret it? I have the active option with catless LTH, corsa H pipe, and the stock axle backs currently. Trying to decide if I want to do corsa touring axles backs or active axle backs.

On my 2018 GT I went from the stock active setup to a Kooks axleback that wasn't active. After that I preferred to keep the active setup so I have total control of the sound. I currently run the Corsa system on my 2020 GT500 CFTP and having the active exhaust is great. I can put it in quiet mode when I take a call or put it to any of the more aggressive settings whenever I like.

So for me I'd personally stick with the active setup just for that reason.

Let us know if there's anything we can help you with.

Thanks!

Is your GT500 catless? Does the normal sound different from the sport inside the car?

It's an offroad race setup yes. 2" Stainless Works headers, race lead pipes, Corsa catback with double helix X. The sound definitely varies from normal to sport as well as all other modes. It's noticeable from inside the car.

awesome, the only huge thing that worried me was being super loud 24/7 in all the modes. I know how loud the extremes are with a catless setup on a 2017 Mustang and they are LOUD at WOT.

I will be honest, before I bought my car, I didn't know much about them, did not even know Active Exhaust existed.. I was always a SN95 guy. At first I thought about getting rid of it, but I think it sounded good in stock form and nice being able to make it loud or quiet.. now I would never get rid of it.. one of my favorite features on this thing now.

I personally would keep it. That 5.0 makes too much noise, and gets old real fast.

That said, I have my active exhaust unplugged open. But I am below 100 dB, and generally only have it out at events, no DD.

what is your exhaust setup? Mine is not a DD either… I have had it over a year and only have 6K miles on the dash.

Bone stock. It's a GT350. But I'd keep the valves if I had the 5.0 and active exhaust. The baritone roar from the 5.0 is sort of exhausting to me (no pun intended), where as my motor is more sticcato, and it just doesn't rattle my brain like the 5.0. Honestly, 100 dB is about all the louder I'd want to go.

And I just realized I'm getting old LOL

please do tell…
Catless LTH’s and Borla atak full exhaust here. This video is on normal mode with active, not even on a cold start so I can’t even imagine having no active exhaust and starting the car early in the morning. Quite mode for the win!! 🤣
