I know about hail damage...but are we going to have raindrop damage from over sized rain?
I already treat my hood and trunk as if they are made of foil. Glad I didn't buy that all-aluminum F150. By now I would have had to lay down a 3/4 inch layer of plywood in the box.

Im on long island.

So to update its about $2k worth of damage from a single day. The car has been moved to in front of my treeless neighbors house (with their permission). Parked it monday night and it was spotless, come out for wednesday errands and its covered. I would say close to 100 dents all over.

The worst tell of the panel quality is that even the A pillars around the doors have dents. Theyre bent and stronger and their extreme verticle angle means most of the energy doesnt hit. But there they are, still dented by a glancing look of an acorn.

None of them are very deep and the insurance is asking me to takd pictures which is a laugh aince they barely show in pictures. And despite me asking for something today they want to look at the car tomorrow in the rain.

The other cars barely have a mark on them, my sisters 2001 mercury sable was tanking them, nothing on it and ita been out there for days. Ugh, i spent so much time on the cars appearance and battled so many things this summer to keep her looking glass dipped and this comes along and bleh i feel sick.

i wish it was a simple chainsawing, these are old and big oak trees that withstood the worst of the past 50 years. the property also isnt mine to tangle with.

Sucks, man. My cousin has some damned crows that drop walnuts on his '14 GT. He's got a few dents that way. He needs a pellet gun...
Good luck, crows are very intelligent. Try to get anywhere near them with a gun and they are gone.

Car was moved to the side of my neighbors house. I dont like it there because we have had cars side swiped there before and there are buss stops on each corner and i dont trust kids. The one spot that isnt covered by branches is near the corned but it has a stop sign you cant park too close to and the wind still pushes the acorns enough.

Insurance looked at it today and rated it at ~$1600 worth of damage, withover 150 dents. All from one day. They had to cover thr car with those car paint pens and im itching to get them off the only place i have to wash it is in the acorn hell driveway.

If anyone can recommend a PDR person on Long Island let me know.

I just spent $300 having a hickory tree removed that was a little too close for comfort to my driveway. A good storm and it could blow a hickory nut far enough to hit mine.

My car was about a week or two old and I was leaving work. As I was pulling up to a stop sign, big ass acorn hits the roof. And damn, was it loud! Had a dent for a while, but sitting in the summer heat this past year seems to have worked the dent out.

But yes, Ford made these cars out of the thinnest metal they could find that would hold shape.

Angelo @ Dent Professional. 516-628-3030. A guy named drew that works for angelo fixed my dents.Very good work, and amazing watching them do it.Most dent guys on long island are a pain to deal with. They like to do mostly dealer and easy jobs.
My body shop buddy referred him too me,and he was great to deal with.

Good luck, that really sucks.I feel for you,as my house is also bombarded with acorns this year.
