Unfortunately, I have several large oak trees that every fall, drop about two garbage cans full of acorns and have dented my previous cars. We do not have a garage and cutting down the trees is not an option. Is there a very strong car cover or car canopy someone can recommend?

I am going to bump this. Im sure a regular car cover will work a bit but the way and the force the acorns fall is like hail at times. Suggestion help.

I cut my tree down before I brought new cars home. I peed on the stump before grinding it away.

Seeing as you are in Jersey, I guess shooting them out of the trees, or shooting the trees down is not an option.

If you are in a neighborhood which allows it perhaps you could build a car port in the driveway?
Sorry if I spoke out of turn, I'm just an ole redneck that likes to shoot things!

I'll probably try the carport route as I found a few decent options

Covercraft Evolution 4 covers are very nice & worked for me on my 300ZX & G35 until we could get a carport built. They are a PITA tho when wet & it gets old putting them on & off every day. Not too much of an issue if the 'stang is a weekend car, I used the one for the Z for 6 years.

too many acorns, not enough squirrels? too cold for squirrels? lazy squirrels? squirrels eating too much bird feed, they cannot be bothered to climb trees? squirrels with a beer gut, can't climb trees?

can the OP cut a few branches that hang over the car?

yeah, definitely get something. I have about 3 dents from parking under an oak tree where I live.

This is my second Covercraft Noah car cover and both have been well designed to fit the contours of the vehicle perfectly. It's easy to cover the car and remove the cover and the extra thickness of the Noah fabric protects from dings and nicks that falling acorns have caused when the cover is off the car."

Hey klumpikat, have you tested it against acorns? I couldn't find where the company made claims for that. Bird droppings were covered, check. When my tree was standing, I watched, heard and viewed dings they made. We had to park cars in the street until we found someone to take the tree. Luckily, my wife works with a lady where their prime method of heat is from burning wood. Took the tree and dragged it out for free.

Sorry, I haven't; we don't have the acorn problem here, though I distinctly remember those from my childhood in CT. I just posted that person's review of the cover as they seemed to like it.
Fortunately my car lives in the garage when not outside playing.
