you are using the stock diameter damper? Absolutely sure you are using the 3.75" and not a 3.625"?

I'd be interested in a looking at log.

Don't hold your breath. FI doesn't really work well with 91, I haven't heard of anyone running 91 who doesn't get 3-4+ degrees of knock at WOT. Well I guess there are the manufactureres who claim they've seen it work great, but that probably just helps them sell product to the poor bastards being deceived in 91 octane states.
I got no knock on 91. Depends on your boost level and how aggressive your tune is.

Seems sketchy.
Just when I thought Brain BND and Hazmat SRT here dropped out of this development and support for the Whipple guys I get and email from Brian. I also found out that My friends Dave and Jay in Cali also received notification that they are getting a new formula of ACES to test for knock resistance. I'll be testing sometime next week and Dave and Jay will go to Whipple sometimes in July and test it on the Dyno there is the plan. Just to be clear Dave and Jay need to make an appointment at Whipple to run this testing and that may not have been setup yet, but that's the plan.

Now another update on METHANOL injection. I tested a single nozzle 7gph or 441 ml/mn which is a very small amount of meth injected. The nozzle is pre throttle body in the inlet between the MAF and throttle body. The test was purely to see if the meth injection would eliminate positive knock and allow the timing to be advanced for max power.

Baseline knock results on 93 gas only with 3.5" pulley was about 2.5-3.5 degrees knock and 15 degrees spark advance. With the 3.625" the knock was just under 2 and spark advance was 16-18.

1st test with METH was with 3.625" pulley and I saw -:eyebulge: so it was adding anywhere between 1.5-2 and total advance timing was 20.

2nd test with METH was 3.5" pulley and I had the same results as above. So even pulling down the knock stayed happy and full timing was advanced. The only time I saw any positive knock was hard shift to 4th gear it blipped 1.5 positive for a split second which is normal. Lambdas stayed at .75 which isn't about 11.0 A/F which is rich and not optimal for power, but I was seeing .78 on the whipple cal without meth. Obviously to totally optimize the power to be made with meth injection your calibration should compensate fueling when meth is sprayed. Nevertheless I'm convinced that meth injection has proven its ability to add an octane affect of race gas. Dyno is planed for later this summer to really see what power gains are to be had.

Roh92cp Shawn, did you notice how much additional cooling the METH gave IAT2 temps? That should help with the knock and timing as well.

I don't think I'm injecting enough meth to change the A/F or IAT's. I was surprised that the IAT's didn't reduce significantly. In fact many of you should know that when you start a pull say in 4th gear and IAT's are 135 say when the throttle is basically closed, but when you open the throttle the rush of air and the lack of bypassing air actually cools the intake charge and IAT's start to drop. Somat the end of the pull the IAT may be at 120 ish. I really didn't see any change in this with the meth.

Were you getting positive known with the 3.625 pulley on 93?
