im testing 93+torco right now in my car. had 12 gallons in the car and threw half a can of torco. should be 96-97 octane. my car is limited to 16 degrees of timing but im running a half-mile event in november and wanted to ensure my car didnt have any glaring hiccups with it.
What blower?

I run half a can of Torco to every full tank of 93. Huge difference in power "felt" without the Torco.

So you're running a 3.5" pulley on yours? What's the smallest pulley you can run without needing Octanium? Just wondering if it's the same as the Whipple.

Gotcha, so you've upgraded to more boost. I just wasn't sure if it was something that's needed that they don't warn you about. I have 91 octane also, guessing I should be fine as long as I stay with the standard pulley from whatever blower I end up buying. Do you know if that's a safe assumption. Sorry I quoted you up above, was more of a question to anyone, but thanks for your reply.
Since I and 2 others have been testing and monitoring knock with NGauge we have found it very hard to run anything but the 3.75" pulley to keep knock at a minimum on pump gas. Whipple recommends and sells these with a 3.75" pulley for a reason. Very hard to get away with more pulley on pump gas, although some can do it. That may be variance in timing tolerance from motor to motor.

Funny I never feel it in the but Dyno! I know it's there making more power but at full song it all just feels real fast:headbang:

I actually have a bit of information this when I had a chance to connect with Brian very briefly this week.

He's working on a formulation that he's sending to Whipple directly for testing. I'm not sure if this is a different form of IV or a combination of IV and IV-P but I know he's working directly with that team.

I hope to be in touch with him today and will provide some more information as soon as I have it.
Hi Shawn,

Confirmed. Brian is indeed working with Will at Whipple Superchargers. This is in addition to Dave testing at Whipple.

Cheers,

Andy
This is new's to me  I have not had any contact with Brian.

To much of this going on :gossip:

Just to clarify the Whipple Calibration engineering team has a full understanding on the knock system, we of course are completely aware of the 11-14 and 15+ differences and utilize the knock system as it is designed.
Hazmat SRT....I'm surprised this has gone unanswered:shrug

Glad to read this! OK so what's a sooner interval? Every 5k miles? 10k?
Spark plug wise it would be best to change them every 10K miles. The 02 sensor's that's a little more flexible on the interval wise but plan on 25k to 30K to change the O2 sensor's.

Hope this helps

V8Venom keep in mind Dustin tested about 6 or 7 of the top octane boosters and with the Whipple blower with the Whipple tune; Octanium provided the best results as far as advancing the timing. Not to say with different blowers and different tunes one of the other additives might work better on those systems.

Do you have a link or know the Octanium/ratio used? I assume it was with Cali 91. Thanks

you know what they say about butt dynos lol. Maybe the belt was slipping or the 95 degree heat effected the pump only tune when I tested it.

EgoBoost Correct I am in Cali and use 76 Octane 91 gas. I use 1 full 32 oz. can of Octanium per tank when I fill up; (Usually about 12 gallons).

Thanks. Do you recall the mixture Dustin used in his testing or have a link to that thread/post?

EgoBoost Im not sure exactly the mixture but I'm assuming it was the same as I just followed his lead. It wasn't in a post rather a private message some time ago when I was looking to drop down to the 3.625 pulley. I was running the stock 3.75 pulley on 91 octane then dropped down to the 3.625 when I started using the Octanium. I tried the 3.50" pulley but it pulled way to much timing so I went back to the 3.625. With the 3.625 pulley and Octanium, I put down 701Rwhp.

This is the first time I've used an octane booster with this pulley. I've never had any issues. I'd be scared to go any further down simply due to efficiency and fuel quality.
