About to change the oil!

Bought 2 gallons of Rotella, and a fresh new Wix oil filter. Going to change it out tomorrow! Thanks for the info everyone. Expecially from you Adam!

Did mine last night. It easy to measure if you pour two quarts in the first empty bottle so you can just dump in it. I fill the filter all the way (burped) and it's dead on the line each time after I drop it back down and let it run for a minute or so and sit for about 5-10 minutes.


I also drain it while the front is jacked up to get every last drop out of there!

Make sure you have the drain pan positioned so that the oil has a lot of space to land. That sideways drain hole turns into a super soaker, especially if you change on a slight incline.

I mainly use that stuff for the track, and have been for the past 7 or so years. It works. After seeing some Mobil 1 oil analysis from blackstone, I jumped off their bandwagon. Too many eaten rod bearings on the mobil.

Was it just me? I had to put almost 7 qts to fill up mine after oil/filter change... And YES I know how to read oil.. been mechanic for years..

Maybe they under packaged every qt bottles...!??
