Dear Ford Motor Company,
First off thank you for making such an amazing car.....from what I, along with many other people have heard. Therein lies the issue. You see, after ordering my car twice, one from a dealer that screwed me over and another from one that was nice enough to do MSRP I still have not received my car like many others on this forum. So what could you have done different? Well here is a few suggestions. Lets start from the first problem, the dealerships.
Dealerships
We all understand that this is a hot new product and to capitalize on supply and demand dealerships are looking to make the most money possible. Charging $5,000-$40,000 over sticker in profit. Here is an idea. When a dealership signs up for the Shelby program make them sign an agreement to charge a reasonable amount for the vehicle. I've found that to get people into your dealerships it is better to show it off in a natural setting besides sitting in a showroom roped off with salesmen/saleswomen that know nothing about the car.
Shipping
Why in the hell do you wrap up a 50th anniversary GT and those that go overseas but not a special edition Shelby that is subject to severe damage while in transport. Rock chips, weather, dents, dings, chips in windows, ect. It's obvious you have the covers readily available so why ship the most expensive modern mustang without extra protection?
Shelbys Sitting
With the recent images surfacing of the vast amount of Shelbys sitting in lost just waiting to be shipped, Thank you VooDoo for the pics
, why not do something about it. The only thing I can think of that is wrong is issues with shipping. Why not do what GM and Dodge do with the Corvette and Viper? Dodge takes $900 off the price if you come pick it up for yourself and give you a factory tour. I'd be all over that in a heartbeat. GM does something similar but costs an extra $5,000 and you get to build the motor. However, due to the amount of other vehicles that come off the factory floor it does not seem feasible. Offer a program that lets customers come up, tour the factory, and drive their vehicle home that day.
Lack of Information
Seeing as some of the vehicles (2015s) were built in July/August and are still not in the hands of the customers one's only response is "Where the hell is my car!?" How do cars sit for four months and you do not inform the customers about what the hold up is. I don't think anyone would have an issue if it was correcting a flaw or issue that might later come up but a little information is greatly needed.
All this has me worried. While I still very much want this car and after selling my 2013 in preparation my car is still under "material hold" whatever the hell that means. I've owned nothing but Fords and so have my parent, with the exception of one vehicle, for over 25 years. Never have I seen such a lack of caring for a product you put so much time and effort into. But I digress. Anyway, like many other members, I will just continue to sit and wait for a car that may not come until next year. But hey whats another two months on top of the four months I've already been waiting.
Sorry if this does not agree with some but I'm so tired of waiting for this damn car but won't give up on it. Also, sorry for the long read. Kinda helped getting it all out there. Anyway if you made it through the entire thing hope you enjoyed it at least.
