Hey everyone,

Two cars ago I had a turbo'd FR-S and decided to mod my driver side circular a/c vent to hold a 52mm boost gauge. It still flowed air and later they actually started making a mount for it to go there.

I was wondering if anyone has done this or heard of anyone doing this? My car is stock now and really no need for additional gauges at this point, just curious. Also, I realize there are electronic gauges in the center display but those are often inaccurate compared to mechanical or aftermarket electronic sensor gauges.

There is an insert made for the previous model that allows a gauge to be placed in the vent. Not sure if the 2015 vent is the same size or not though. I will be placing a gauge in the center A/C vent on my car. If there is no aftermarket gauge holder made to fit, I will just make a custom one.

Make sure that your gauge - and I think particularly its display - can handle the heat when you're warming the car in the winter. I'm pretty sure that Aeroforce discourages the vent mount for its Interceptor gauge for that reason. I mounted mine in a single A pillar pod.

Post pics in here when you do. Love to see how it looks. Thanks for the replies so far.

I asked in another thread, but will do so here too. Does anyone know how to get the vents out?

Started on my vent gauge today. Ignore the gauge, it was just a junk one that I had laying around. I haven't decided what gauge I will be using yet, but the mounting part of it is done. What gauge would everyone go with?

I would put oil pressure.

How did you mount it?

As for gauge I would go with Wideband AF/R if it's boosted or oil pressure if N/A. There are some multi gauges out there that give you all kinds of digital readings to select.

I had one of my friends put in my boost gauge last night. he said it was a pain in the ass and took him about 3 hours to do. the gauge almost fits perfect in the vent but he had to make a little bracket so it wouldn't move around. It came out really nice but once a pod is available I will definitely buy it.

On a PP car. How hard would it be to swap the Vacuum gauge with an aftermarket?
