Looks like it has stout welds, nice collectors. Will you reuse the vibration dampers?

No. The standard tube thickness they use is 304 stainless .049 thick. These are 304 stainless .065 thick and purge welded so the weld penetration is better.Looks like it has stout welds, nice collectors. Will you reuse the vibration dampers?
I'm not going to install them until I base line Dyno test them. But it's very tempting to install them now.I'm working the night shift tonight so I'll be sitting here waiting for you to get done. I want to hear how badass these cars are gonna sound with longtubes!![]()

Makes em lighter too.According to ARH and Watson they will work. Watson makes the stock headers for the voodoo and said ford engineers put dual patterns on the heads to avoid confusion at the factory so they don't mix up 5.0 and 5.2 heads.
LolMakes em lighter too.
Lol. You've got a good vacation. I'm not giving up on the cobra jet yet. Just back burner. How long did it take you to install your headersAhh, you get me!
I don't envy the job ahead of you, if those are as tight as my Boss, its kind of a pain in the a@@, cramp city. I left my stock studs in.
Also, since I'm on vaca, I just put my CJ mani on the Boss myself, and discovered the stock TB bolts are too long for the CJ oval TB, you need 6.0-1.0x x 20 or 25 mm long bolts if you figure a way to go this route.
I changed the clutch too, so it took longer, but it didn't make the header portion easier, I'd say the headers took me about 10 hours. I dropped a nut into the frame and that took awhile to find, and tore a ground strap connector off. I was on a rack too. It was a 1 1/2 -2day job all together.Lol. You've got a good vacation. I'm a mechanic by trade and if it's got tits or tires, it'll give you problems.I changed the clutch too, so it took longer, but it didn't make the header portion easier, I'd say the headers took me about 10 hours. Good deal, it'll be easier for you, I'm a part timer under the hood....and getting too old to bend over all day.:headbonk:I'm a mechanic by trade and if it's got tits or tires, it'll give you problems.
I was just thinking about something. Since these are equal length headers, I wonder if it will change the sound for one, but I also wonder if uncapping the headers before the X pipe will gain power.
