Good luck trying to make a equal length header on this car. Ford couldn't even do a better header then the stock ones because of room. I've made about 9 sets of headers in my time and it's a job. Their just isn't any room to work with to make them equal length. I've made rotational and cross fire headers and with little or no gains.

Looking at Kooks' set for the GT350, they may be equal length. I don't know if they've done final fitment, or if that's just their initial design.

Either way, all the long tubes perform almost equally on the 5.0s. So, I'm sure you're right about the potential power differences not being noticeable.

I'm mainly wondering if having a properly "tuned length" set of headers would eliminate the need for an X pipe, or if there's still some kind of benefit to it.

I'm gonna be Dyno testing both x and h pipes for power and sound

That's awesome, but I actually meant that I wondered if the merge pipe could be removed altogether. Just two straight pipes from collector to muffler. I'm not asking you to do that, I'm just thinking.

It is a flat plane. having even cylinder firing means better scavenging from the start. So it may not be much difference in having straight pipes.

You can only do With the room you have. I myself wouldn't want the headers in the link above. Especially for a flat plane engine. A Tri y would be a good header but to do it right and to merge the y would be very tight and more expensive to make.

Talked to john today he said I should be able to baseline it Thursday. Also a JLT and LUND E85 tune. Then next week install and Dyno the headers.

Do e85 last after all the mods installed. It can accurately display what the car makes on 93 octane and then do e85 tune after to see what it picks up. Break the 500s on pump 93 octane.
