50th anniversary appearance package questions

From Ford's press release:

The Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition will be the only 2015 model with the large faux gas cap badge on the rear fascia, with 50 Years added to the GT designation.
Just want to make sure I am reading this correctly since the wording is confusing. This means it is the only faux gas cap badge that has the "50 Years" on it right? The comma makes it sound like it is the only 2015 model with the cap badge.

Either way I am really confused since we have seen this one........

Yea I would guess that's just a pre-production issue that will get sorted out. We know a rear faux gas cap with the pony exists (from OP's post). Question is whether that will be for non-GT's with the anniversary package and maybe the GT gets a regular GT faux gas cap without the '50 years'

I really wish they would have kept that exclusive to the limited edition, if for no other reason than I think it's just time to move on from it.

Yea I'm wondering the same. The gt anniv package says GT 50 years. Would the Ecoboost have the running pony logo with 50 years or just the pony on the faux gas cap?

^^You are talking about the 50 Year Limited Edition. Johnny is asking about the 50th anniv appearance package. It shows up in the order banks too. It's no surprise, they offer one every 5 year anniversary. The only difference this year is they decided to come out with a separate limited edition to commemorate it.
They didn't make one for 1994, which always made me mad...they didn't even make a cool 30th logo at all

OMG! I Totally get the "Fusion" thing now after seeing this picture...

NO... Not as in the 2015 Mustang looks like a Fusion, I see the S-550 as being a Fusion of the SN-95 seen behind it and a S-197.
As a long time owner of an SN-95, I've been saying this since it was revealed in December :D

Anyone know if 50th anniversary package will be available on convertibles? I assume so....especially now that they have that one of a kind LE convertible being raffled off....and the fact that they always tout how the Mustang was designed to be a convertible

Just realized that the "corral" framing the pony emblem echoes the surrounding grille's shape. Neat, but I think I'm too in love with the vanilla 5.0's sectioned fang look.

I'm not sure the LE convertible is really indicative of whether it would be offered on the package but I can't think of a reason they wouldn't offer the package on the vert. It seems the only reason there will not be more LE convertibles is because of delayed production of that body style (until Job 2 seems to be the word). Which of course means if you want a 50th packaged vert you would also have to wait at least a few months after production begins.

Yeah I understand the delay in convertibles, but I don't think that'll stop them from making a 50th anniversary package (though the LE, makes sense). Unless the convertibles are delayed until 2016 MY I don't see why they wouldn't offer the 50th package. The only difference in parts between the convertible and coupe as far as the package goes are the seats I believe (maybe the spoiler, if that's even part of the package?) I think demand for the 50th annv. convertible would be high enough to warrant the offering, but that's just a hunch...we'll have to wait and see :)

Noticed in the order guides that the 50 years appearance package includes a 50 years badge on instrument panel... is this the little metal thing with the pony and "Mustang since 1964" we've seen in pics on the left dashboard bit? I thought that was standard on all 2015s (since it's shown on "all" cars - also those not with the 50th package).

Or is there another special logo within the instrument cluster?

I'm not sure about the 50th year package yet... mostly because I'm not sold on black seats - though it's not really clear from the guide that you can only get the Raven black seats...

I ordered mine last night with 50th appearance package. It said added chrome taillights when the package was selected. I dont believe that's been mentioned. It's not on the list on page 1 of this thread.

Very good question...I certainly hope the "since 1964" is on every car and not just the 50th appearance option. My assumption has been is that the 50th appearance dash badge would be similar to what is on the LE except perhaps without the serial number.

The portion of the seat covers that says "50 years" being different colors is something that seems to be unlikely to be offered in other colors. I believe the reason that it is Raven black is because that is the same black in the 2-tone coverings of the LE.

Anyone know if the grille on the eco 50th appear package is just like the standard grille with corraled pony or is it still the deeper gt style grille that weve seen so far?

Will the 50th Appearance Package have a rear spoiler? I notice no "spoiler delete" allowed so my guess is it will have one, unless you order PP with it?
