Hey by chance did Shaun have any recommendations as far as intake goes? He knows so much I’d be interested what he thinks and if you should just stay stock intake. Great graph, really impressed with aed
Shaun recommend I keep the stock air box and intake manifold on my 19.

he just recommended the stock intake with a drop in. he hates PMAS (as do i). if i got a CAI i would probably just get something like the injen for noise only. Shaun taught me a lot about my car and the gen3 in general too as well as how various fuels affect these engines and the cats, and properties and composition of E85 in california, dude is a genius

Thanks man for the reply. Yeah I would feel really good about him tuning my car, he seems so thorough and just seems the best when it comes to these cars. Just a hunch, never worked with him but he seems like the man.

Is the throttle body, Cai, and tune on the bullitt what gives it the HP bump over the GT? Curious if anyone has swapped the same parts onto a regular stock GT and seen if the gains are similar.

The Bullitt has the 87mm TB of the GT350, as well as the CAI open air filter, finished with a different tuning (more air into the engine, due to 87 vs 82 mm TB). You can get those from Ford Performance, if you want. I'd have preferred the closed filter of a GT, but not going to mess with it.

Ty, so pretty much the Ford Motorsports performance package from Ford for the 2018-2019 cars it sounds like.

The Bullitt doesn't also have a GT350 intake manifold?

I’ve been debating if I should change my gears. I have a 19 gt and it comes with 3.55. Will I notice a difference if I install 3.73 gear? I really don’t want to go to 4.09 as it’s a manual

I post this all the time in various threads asking this question as I have 4.09 gears (not installed yet due to lockdown). In my view a jump to 3.73 is not worth it. 4.09 is the minimum and frankly even 4.56 would feel more perfect minus the elevated cruising RPM.

And is it worth it? Yes. I'm of the view that under 80-90 mph the 15-17 manual is actually quicker than a 2018+ manual due to the closer ratio gearing.

The revised ratios of the MT82-D4 and comparison at the 7400 RPM max revs on the stock ECU:

Another chart comparing the 2018+ cars to the 2015-17 cars up to 7200 RPM and you will clearly see the 4.09 gear swap on a 2018+ makes the gearing very similar to a 2015-17 GT that came with 3.73 gearing until 4th gear.

So I should get 4.09 gears and not 3.73? I just don’t want to have it to where I gotta speed shift even when I’m not racing. Right now I’m pretty sure mine came with 3.55 gears. But I’m up in the air about which ones to get.

Yes, 4.09.

You aren't going to need to speed shift anything. The ratios are wide enough that you will see literally zero effect on mpg or driveability around town and likely won't even see a drop on the motorway in economy.

Look at the tables. It's clear.

If it's a problem just skip gears 1st->3rd or 2nd->4th, I do it all the time.

ive read the same thing, but I have the ngauge and it runs normal. It must be a per car basis. I really like it tbh, tho I’ve been told a cai doesn’t give you any extra hp. All the videos have the hood open when they dyno it and since you drive with it closed you get none. But I honestly like the way it makes my engine look.
