I read the thread about it. Did any resolution ever happen or be found? Mine is 2021. I let it sit 15 min and restarted and it’s cleared now. Haven’t driven again yet. Trans temp is 120*. Oil pressure is working (one dude said his was bad and changing fixed). Car would downshift fine, upshift was not smooth, kinda revved a little and clunked up.

Gonna drive it real quick after car behind me leaves.

anyguidance? I read somewhere about a plug but can’t seem to find that.
Thanks y’all

I think it means that its time to change the oil. And the filter must be a FL2087.

Drove it about 40 miles with no problem so far. Called the dealership (dadgum, my favorite service writer is gone) and they said what i already knew. Gotta wait till there’s a code stored or it’s in the act of messing up. So, I’ll just drive and enjoy it till it comes again. If it comes again.

Boy, that really pissed off the car lol. Got all kinds of alarms and lights. Got it done, cleared about 10 dtc’s from unplugging it even with the car off. Guess I shoulda pulled battery cable.

With the car off you unplugged, checked pins then replugged? Correct?

When you started it up again it threw codes?

That seems odd. Not sure why that would happen.
Good that they all cleared and it’s running fine now.
Something to watch.

With the car off, I unplugged it. Immediately when I flipped the lock lever, the car started dinging and the trans pump kicked on (sounded like it anyway) and then turned off When it sounded like it pressured the system up. The car dinged the whole time I was looking at the plug (ignition off). Plugged it back in (no problems found, no moisture in plug) and it stopped. Turned ignition on, and wrench light was lit. Checked codes before starting, showed about 10 or so. Cleared DTC’s, wrench light cleared, started car and everything fine so far.

I’ve never seen a car monitor something like that the whole time, even with ignition off. But, I’m a part time hot rodder and only a so so repair mechanic so not a lot of experience. But the car is certainly alive, awake and monitoring things, even with igniiton off and key in the house. I’ll be pulling battery cable any time I mess with something like that again. Def not like my gen 2 coyote controls pack setup in my hot rod where I can do whatever I want as long as ignition is off.

That’s different. Mine didn’t when I did the plug check?

This is probably a wild guess OP but I'm wondering if the sound you thought was the gearbox pump was in fact the same sound I think most have heard from the car when it's off. To me it appears to come from the right rear area. Relay sound kinda thing. It would have been quite a coincidence to happen RIGHT after you unlocked the the junction but it seems possible from what you said, at least to me and Lord knows, I'm no expert, I've just heard that sound enough times. :-)

Hope it was nothing.

Nope, it was def a pump and def from the from middle of car underneath. Almost like a oversized, 2x loud fuel pump that ran about 2x as loud and about same length of time, like when you turn ignition on. I did hear relays also but that was different. Not too worried about it doing that. Everything cleared and car ran fine to a lunch meeting I had and back after that. I was surprised that it happened, but not worried about it. I just hope my wrench light fault doesn’t return lol.

The trans pump is engine driven — so it wasn’t that. Could have been the diff cooler pump. More likely the evap vacuum system. The evap system cycles quite often.

Maybe so. Whatever is on that circuit I imagine. May do it again to see if I can narrow it down. It only did it the first time I unplugged it (had to plug it back in and release it again when I was messing with it). I want to learn more about how these cars work.

No offense but that’s not exactly a cheap piece to play around with. It has a warranty and if you mistakenly make an error playing with it you might jeopardize that warranty.
The DCT is the only thing that scares me with this car but it seems that Tremec/Ford Performance have hit a home run.

Concerning the DCT- isn't it the same unit (or close) to the 7 speed they used in the GT? If so, I bet the R&D on that helped make the transition to the GT500 smoother
