Dropped right in
To the stock box?? I thought it didn’t fit, I didn’t even think to try. I just finished the S650 box install and holy shit, that was so much more stressful than I anticipated. A lot of dremel work, drilling, and bullshit to get a clean fit. Got there eventually but damn, that was not fun.

To anyone considering this swap, the 48 AGM battery is amazing - the startup is so smooth I thought something was wrong at first. The S650 tray however was a huge, huge headache. At first it seemed like I only needed to drill out the mounting holes, then it turned out that once mounted it tilted the battery back and away from the battery cables. Trying to adjust the battery’s position left it too high, preventing the hood from closing. I had to dremel off a bunch of the plastic fins on the bottom of the box to get the right angle and a secure mount.

0/10 will not recommend. I should’ve committed and put the battery in the trunk. If Unas2k5 tells me he just dropped it into the stock box and that I’m an idiot for not trying that, I will have a massive aneurysm.

My 48AGM fits in the stock tray with no issues. Sits about 1/4 inch higher than the stock battery, but no issues with clearing the hood, and I was even able to put the cover back on.

What year is your car and what model AGM? What’s the CCA and AH rating? Because I know for a fact the battery cover does not fit over XS power’s D4700. Maybe the tray varies between years or maybe your battery is physically smaller. I do think the D4800 I’m using is slightly shorter than the D4700, need to take a look in the morning

I have this :

I also have that battery. It fits but if I install the cover it contacts the hood and pushes it up enough for me to notice.

Honestly, I believe I just dropped it right in and I don’t believe it pushes my hood up
