Doing some research on which trim level I want to get next time I trade in the future and see different information on what the difference is between the 400a and 401a seats are. is it just the center section where you sit different quality of leather? and the nicer stitching contrast on 401a. also read 400a may actually hold up better for daily driving, easier to clean, etc. from photos I have seen of 400a seats they still look nice. my thinking was to go with 400a and option in the B&O sound system for the approximate $1200 to save spending on the approximate $2900 for the 401a package. did not see much else on 401a that really needed. this would be on an S650 in the future. not liking the screen setup on the base GT so thought would go premium next time.

My 401a seats are stretched out in the middle. Don’t know anything else about them or why, other than it looks terrible

I had a 401A car for a week, leather seats. I found them somewhat uncomfortable in the butt area. Figuring it was the heating element (???) I went with non heating/cooled cloth seats and they were much more comfortable. No idea why. Cloth vs leather perhaps? After disconnecting the lumbar (it never fully retracted) they were almost the most comfortable seat in any car I've had.

thanks for the info. yeah i did read some that the 400a seats are more synthetic leather and may hold up better, clean up better. would be nice if Ford build site gave more info on the differences. i have always had the cloth seats in my Mustangs before so no experience with the leather in Mustangs

The premium seats on the Mach 1 are very comfortable. I got the 700A package which I believe includes the same seats as the 401a package? I got the Leather with heated and cooled seats. Long road trips no problems at all.

Interesting, now wondering if sticking with cloth may be the way to go, that is what i have always had before, could go 301A and save money too,

I will say the 401 seats are very comfortable and the contrast stitching looks nice. Just wish my damn seat bottom didn’t look so loose

I have a 301A car but had Katzskins leather put in last summer with heaters. The leather is really good quality, better than OEM I suspect. I did lose a bit of the comfort the cloth seats provided but keeping the car clean inside is so easy now.

The cloth always looked a bit dirty to me no matter how often I vacuumed or shampooed them. My OCD couldn't take it anymore. :)

yeah i have a 300A and have the american muscle seat covers on them, helps protect the cloth and look pretty good.
