The cut you are calling a brake cooling duct is actually more of a splitter ramp. The stock cooling ducts run through the lower front grill. The photo is from my car, but I assume the GTs work basically the same. Red is the brake cooling duct, blue is the splitter ramp.

GT performance pack cars didn't get the red duct.
I believe the vorshlag testing was on a GT PP car as well. They still out performed a 4in duct.

Who of Terry's S550s are you talking? Because I vote the LS swap doesn't count lol that thing is so wildly different it isn't apples to apples.

Do you have a link to their testing though? I love to read it.

Keep in mind that you will also get more moisture on the brakes in wet weather.
Perforated or slotted rotors will help, but without them you will have a short delay in stopping power until the rotor is dry.

Thanks, I have those deflectors, but someone else sent me the vorshlag write up. These deflectors were used on conjunction with the splitter ramps, which makes a ton of sense.

Here is the write up sent to me (by a lurker who drives way faster than me 😂).

Yes you need the performance pack belly pan or similar. The 18+ belly pan seems more aggressive than the early ones so they might work better but I have a 17.

So I cut up my APR CF splitter (lol) and installed those Venturi’s that I cut off my PP belly pan but I really don’t think they do much.

Link to video HERE. Its an older video with lots of info so its long, FYI.

Moving forward, if you want brake cooling, I would go to a dedicated kit.

I also 3D printed some grates so that the chunks or rubber wouldn't get caught in the tube or the bracket between the rotors

Lemme know if you have any questions, happy to help.

I ran ducts hoses from JLT for a while. I still have them in a box I think.

Never liked how easy the hoses got crunched by wide front tires in the wheel well, and frankly I had better luck with brake temps on track with the splitter diffusers and vorshlag deflectors (which have been entirely drama free). Terry says the deflectors can cool better than hoses and judging from brake fade, that has been my experience too.

I've done some printing to make up new larger deflectors on the control arm.

I hate to ask but could I also get the file for the deflector you made? I have an upcoming track day and would love to have these installed over others I can buy online.

my eyes. where is the radius on the flange
There is a small one. A large radius would just allow the air to exit the deflector but we want it to stay there and move towards the wheel.
