They're being a pita about the deposit (wanting it now when the banks are closed) but I'm all in so far.

There isn't really an established amount for what Rs are actually commanding yet. Once we see a few "actual" sales, we will know. $5k is certainly a steal, though.
More than $5k no matter what overall though. I'd jump on $5k over

Lucky me it's not local ;) Miami dealers still have their heads up their asses.

Just can't get enuff!
Since banks are closed, at least secure part of the earnest deposit via credit card over the phone.... 1k or whatever. Get it in writing that the R is yours.

At that price, make sure that it is in fact an R. Don't give up your current deposit until you're quite sure.

Yeah - be prepared for backpedaling. I hope they don't say that they made a mistake and it's not an R. Make sure they aren't just looking at the windowsticker and seeing the R on there. Get a VIN...get a receipt for your deposit and an agreed price.

I know you likely know all of this already - just making a list of the things that came to mind just in case! Good luck!

$5K over is a good price, at current market value for a R. That being said, it pretty much boils down to what you are willing to pay, what sort of down payment you have and what your willing to shell on a monthly basis if you are financing. Only you know the answer to those questions.
