Is a 305/35R19 drag radial gonna be enough to handle 700-750 whp?
Currently have Nitto NT555RII 275/40R19 on a PP1 wheels along with Steeda stop the hop kit and BMR drag springs and the car will hook but still breaks loose a lot. I might ditch the Nitto’s and go with MT E/T streets SS this time around because I’ve read they are much stickier. More worried about what width will be right to put all the power to the ground!

Forgot to mention this is 100% street driven might see the track once a year at most!

What type of boost?

A centri making 600rwtq at 7000rpm might be ok, a twin screw making 700rwtq at 3000rpm and you might still struggle for traction if you just floor it.

Roush 2650 so super torquey plus other mods!

I have come across a MT 325 that will fit on a 10.5 wheel. I have to upgrade the rears no matter what and a 10.5 is a lot easy to find then an 11.5 for a 345. My concern with the 325 is the side wall at a 30…

You better invest in discount tire stock - and load up on 305s when available.

I have the Roush Stage 2 and dyno'ed 644hp and 593tq at the wheel- I have the 305/35/19 Nitto NT555RIIs and have gotten great traction from a dig and haven't gotten them to break loose accidentally yet. The PZero in a 275/40 wouldn't hold traction until about 50mph at WOT, so these have been a huge improvement.

Appreciate the feed back (nice numbers by the way)! You may have just actually answered my question thou. I’m am definitely past a stage 2 these days (2.7 pulley, off road LTH’s, killer chiller and e85 custom tune) which means if the 305 work for you on a standard stage 2 they will not hold for me. Looks like 325’s or 345’s are in my future which opens a whole different can of worms and lots more money to spend!

305s are fine at that power level... Just get a better tire. Like you said the MT Street SS or if you never ever plan on driving in the rain and want max hookage buy the MT Street Rs

So you think a 305 will give enough contact area to hook? I would definitely be going with the street ss since it is my DD and I live in FL so rain is guaranteed but I only drive a half mile to work every day. Appreciate your input!

Not so much the width as the compound.

Yea for sure MT over Nitto.

Also if you can spend a little and upgrade the suspension. Both steeda and BMR offer great stop the hop kits that will help immensely.

You are approaching the power levels where this is going to be needed more and more.

I am maxed out NA. For people that say the nitto 305 is fine, it may be for them. It dyno's 480s' . If I am in track mode on the street, it will roast the tires without a lot of throttle management. I will be going back to PS4 soon in a 305 to see the difference.

I already have the full Steeda stop the hop kit and BMR drag springs installed one of the first mods I did to the car last year when I got it.

That’s why I’m going to give the MT’s a try and see how they hold!
