Simple. Because they want the R and they can afford to do it. Not every vehicle purchase is based on bang-for-the-buck. Let me know when you have put fifteen months and 18+K miles on your ZL1 and are able to sell it for the same price you paid for it.Tell me why anyone in their right mind would pay $30k over sticker for a R car. First off, Ford charges you to remove stuff to make it lighter. Then if you want it back, they charge you again to put it back. So then, it is almost the same as the regular GT350 and is heavier. The main differences are the spring rates, tires and wheels.
So do you buy the car just to show off to your buddy's, hey look at me?
