I just hit a little over 100 miles and still getting the limit at 3,000 rpms. When does this stop happening so I can drive the car hard which is the reason I bought the car. There is a yellow line on the tach at 3,000 rpms and the shift light beeps over 3,000 rpms. I set the audible tone in settings but I thought it was going to go off at 7,500 not 3,000.

You adjusted that with the cobra button. You raise or lower the shift point.

I don't recall mine ever having limits preset once taken out of transport mode. I was not aware that you can set rpm limits. I like the idea of that, especially if you can set it and a valet or mechanic can't undo it.

Yep, if his car was still in TM, he would have known it without asking. <smiIe> (No offense intended, OP) Downright pigs in that mode. :-)

However, I don't think what you described (or the OP asked about,) is the issue, Tom. I think It's just to set a shift point so you can have the visible and/or audio alert. The only other RPM setting that I'm aware of is for Launch Control.

Not to my knowlodge, Michael, the LC RPM is the only one that I know of you can set and it's a limit. But, you can set the shift point RPM just below the RL and you can have a light and tone if you reach it. Pad it a few hundred to account for your reaction time. Obviously, this only applies in Manual.

FWIW, I used it for awhile and then just got lazy and let the confuser worry about it while I have fun. <grin>

What I think hes looking at is the visual tach, remember you can either have the heads up display with the lights on top of the dashboard at the shift points, or you can have the digital screen and that is set @3,000 which is adjustable, i think he is just looking at that and not realizing its changeable.
