Greets all,

Hate to make a new post about this, but very little info out there. I was looking for a car cover, preferrably the Shelby OEM covers since its going into my neighbors garage for the winter by the end of Nov. I went to Ford to look for a Rapid Red Outdoor cover with the GT4 wing (Since I am going to be replacing mine with it) but I only find the Red Cover as "Indoor" the only three colors that are outdoor it seems is Grey, Black, and I believe Blue, anyone know why the Red isnt an outdoor cover? And if anyone has the outdoor cover is it any thicker than the indoor cover? Price is all the same between colors and indoor vs outdoor.

And if your asking why I want the outdoor even if its in the garage, I feel the car would be better protected, unless someone shows me otherwise.

Red is indoor only. Did you by chance read my thread on GT500 covers?

No I did not, I would be very interested. I wonder why the red is only indoors.

Reading now, Wonder why red wasnt an outdoor, cant be for stains since the grey would show just as much.
If you saw the satin cover, you'd understand. Its not up for outdoor duty. It gets wet? It gains about 100#. Flat out, its not an outdoor cover.

I get that, but if they can make the black and grey outdoors I cantr see why they couldn't make the red in outdoors as well.

If you saw it in person, you'd get it. Its not an outdoor cover. You might be able to make a red oudoor cover, but nothing like the satin stretch.

If it’s staying inside the garage, why would you not want the indoor cover?
This is the first cover I want to order OEM.

Best indoor cover I've ever had. It can stain pretty easily but does wash up well. The only problem with washing it is you have to run it through a full, bulky-bedding dryer cycle about six times to finally get all the water out of it. Darn thing is literally a sponge.

Mainly what KB said, it soaks up water too much, and I would rather have something that doesn't retain water.

No, no no. Get one of those new fangled washing machines that have a spin cycle only. Run it through a cycle or two and it is left just damp where a light cycle in the dryer takes care of it.

Good tip, Tom, now that I know how much is still in there. I can't imagine a better indoor cover myself other than the sponge effect which is NBD indoors. What would be WAY COOL is if you could find the company who makes them and see if they'd accept your own graphics. A one off, personalized cover (or three) would be something I'd spend sheckles on.

Its coverking, and yes, you can do that. They also make them in with multi colored satin stretch material.
