2JZ Swapped S550 First Drive

I'm very impressed and jealous over the technical skill required to do this swap. But, it makes no more sense than me stuffing a 348 in a Bugeye.

Calm down.....

I'm saying he hacked it together instead of spending the time to do it "right". Does it work? Yes. Can it work better? ABSOLUTELY. The coolant sensor and thereby cooling system can be fixed by double checking wiring and making sure connections are good to the sensor. The OEM speedometer can be fixed by adding the OSS sensor from a manual MT82. Airbag light can be turned off by adding in the missing airbags, TPMS light can be turned off. And ABS light could be troubleshooted to figure out why it isn't functioning. And that damn squeal needs to be fixed.

It's an ongoing project so certainly will be interested to see his solutions to these problems. But just slapping a damn LCD screen over the non functioning speedo is not a fix, it's a band-aid at best. And let's not even talk about the fact that he was at one point considering mounting the crank sensor to the subframe instead of the engine....

He has got a running and driving engine swapped car that should never have been. It's better than most people who start these projects.

Absolutely it is.... But are we not allowed to point out issues that should be easily addressed? It's an ongoing project and I am looking forward to seeing the resolutions to the problems I listed.

Serious question, do you know what a ricer is? Or do you just see any vehicle with less than 8 Cyl and lump it all into verbal diarrhea?

My son-in-law is a huge import fan, I guess it's what was popular when he grew up. He has a Nissan 250SX with an engine swap and big turbo, suspension and the whole works. He has also done some amazing things with the Subaru Forester XT I gave him. It's one hell of a ride now. But he got bitten by the V8 bug is doing a LS swap in his 250SX. I think it's kind of ironic.

And also just so happen to also have a 2jz motor laying around your not using. Quick show of hands. Anyone happen to have both out in the back yard? And the technical knowledge to make it work? Just because something can be done. Doesn't mean it makes sense to do it! Im also not interested in a Supra stuffed with a coyote. Bracing myself for the angry responses.

Not bad. I don't really subscribe to the whole 2JZ or LS "swap the world" thing but I respect his ingenuity and creativity to make it work.

What I really cant stand is youtubers that hold their camera and do a lot of movement. I coundn't make it past 15 seconds lol.

He blew the 2JZ and had to rebuild it. Cracked/holed a valve.



I still wish he had built the hell out of the stock engine.
