My 17 GT came with 20x9.5 275/35/R20 in a square setup. I had absolutely no issues. I went to the original black PP rims because i wanted that look. I think 285/35/20 should be fine
Here is a pic of my car with the 285/35/20's

It entirely depends on the wheel offset. With a +35 or +40 offset on a 10" wide wheel, you can run a 285 tire. If the offset is to shallow it will hit the front strut.

I just ordered a square set of 20x10 +40 wheels on 285/35/20 tires. From what I have read, it should be perfectly fine.

Ive been running 285/35 square on a 20x10 ET35 for a few months now. I dont get any rub when turning. The only rub i get is on big bumps, the tire will rub the inside of the fender. I could tweak the camber a bit more and probably fix it completely.

Did you get caster camber plates for that setup too?

Nope. I bought camber bolts but didn't end up installing them. Was able to get in spec without them

Could you post a shot down the side of the car, front and back, to show how it sits in comparison to the fender? How much camber are you running? How much is it lowered?

Would you consider 295s or would that rub?
285/35/20 would be pushing it might rub depending on the tire brand.

I am on BMR performance springs. Currently the camber is -1.7 and - 1.9. Think I want to get both at 1.7.
